The Revolver Screwgate is the carabiner that many people have been waiting for and it is ... more
now finally available. This screwgate version comes with a keylock nose so that it does not snag on ropes or gear. It features the same friction reducing pulley as the wiregate version, but this model will be fully certified as both a carabiner and pulley. This will make it ideal for use in hauling or rescue systems where complete safety and legislative compliance is required. The Revolver uses advanced I-Beam technology which is designed to crucially allow the body of the biner to deal with the stresses involved in placing a pulley into a carabiner whist remaining light enough for general use. Technical details: * The 7075 series pulley runs on a dry lube "IGUS" bearing, which is seated on a high tensile stainless sleeve and spindle. This will continue to rotate with loads up to 11Kn before any deformation occurs. In the unlikely event that the pulley does deform - and we have not seen one case yet - the biner still acts as a full strength (24Kn) carabiner. * It has been anodised for protection against the elements especially coastal and rigouirous mountain enviroments. * Lubrication:The 'IGUS' bearing will run without lubrication, however like all gates and barrels a periodic clean and oil will prolong the units life.

This karabiner features a full range of locking mechanisms - Screwgate, Quicklock and ... more
Locksafe - and also comes with a keylock nose so that it does not snag on ropes or gear. Advantages: A superb old school rock album Disadvantages: But, like many, I'm still waiting for long overdue new G 'N' R material
know when, or if, it will ever be released.
Three members of the great Guns ?N? Roses line up have not been as idle, though. Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum have got together with former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland and set about doing what Axl hasn?t managed and produce an album of new material. The result is Velvet Revolver and their album ?Contraband?. But will it sound right without Axl?s trademark whine over the top?
It doesn?t take long for opener ?Sucker Train Blues? to answer that with an emphatic yes. At various points, Scott Weiland even manages to sound a little like an ?Appetite?? era Axl Rose. Generally, though, the overall sound isn?t quite as rounded as Guns ?N? Roses old stuff. It?s a decent enough rock track; it?s just not as good as what it?s inevitably going to be compared to.
There?s a shouted intro ...
Take three members of the now defunct Guns ?n? Roses, add in a former Stone Temple Pilots vocalist and what do you get - 2004?s brightest addition, Velvet Revolver. After Axl had decided to abandon his chums and throw a tantrum, Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum sought about finding a front man that could match their ambition, and they found just the man in the shape of the highly controversial Scott Weiland. Weiland, with a history as chequered as Axl Rose, was seen as the perfect replacement to fill the void left by Rose after constant promises of ?Chinese Democracy? had turned up continual no-shows. People will, and have, instantly seen this as Guns ?n? Roses mark 2, however, were you to look deeper you will see that this is Velvet Revolver, and nothing more. The fact that the guys have tried to distance themselves from their respective ...

Must I go on ..............
Velvet Revolver are a freak of nature, something so good that it surely can't be true. largely assembled from the defunct members of rock legends Guns 'n' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots, these five guys have gone on to smash the modern rock scene to bits and have released a 'debut' album of such magnitude and brute force that it does, at times, reach the dizzy heights of Nevermind, Appetite For Destruction etc. Weilend?s chequered history has been thrown aside to produce his vocals at their true best whilst Slash, although not sounding like his old self, still manages to outdo anything that anyone else can do.
