...wheel in contact with the ground more often. Then, later on in the travel, the rearwheel moves forward towards the bottom bracket, shortening the effective chainstay length. This is supposed to eliminate the upward "bounce" motion associated with each stroke of the pedal. Compared with the new brain type inteeligent systems, this works better. You can feel the rearwheel being pushed down into the ground on bumps.

Advantages: Such a simple idea - nothing to remember or buy batteries for Disadvantages: Setting clearances of magnets is fiddly
...they get. I'm thinking that my Brompton folding bike is NOT a candidate as I don't fancy chancing 15 quid's worth of front light to being 8 inches off the ground. There are other reasons why a small-wheeled bike can't use these too. Since the spokes taper together towards the rim, the magnets wouldn't come close enough to work. A typical adult-sized bike wouldn't be a problem though.
The brackets to which the lamps are fitted have slotted holes to allow for several mm of sideways adjustment, to allow for the light to be clamped within the optimum distance from the passing magnets.
There is only one tiny bit more of installation to do before the Reelights are ready to roll, and that's to clamp the magnets to the right spot on your spokes to come close enough to the light (1-3 mm according to Reelight's packaging) without fouling it.
If your...
