Advantages: Good casting distance, high speed retrieval, comfortable handle, good power Disadvantages: Outer finishing seems not lasting too long.
...I own a 6000 series. Yes, it is quite big but actually it weigh the same as the 5500 series, and with added line capacity and more recovery per handle turn, it was an easy decision for me. Before this reel, my collection were mostly on 4000 series sort of size and capacity consist of few good name (shimano, daiwa, abu garcia). That was before I started shore fishing. A few thing that I learned that lead me on buying this particular reel were:
1. Shallow pit reel can't get the casting distance to beat the wave break. Bigger diameter released line smoother and better, hence greater distance.
2. Small handle and small handle turn make me feel like my reel is 'vulnerable' . With relatively smaller gearing relative to the size, it does reduce the lifespan.
3. I need big and comfortable handle grip for repeated casting and retrieving.

Advantages: 2 spools, 2 handles, looks good Disadvantages: nothing major
...I got this reel for Christmas a couple of years ago from my late Mum's older sister's family (I actually asked for the Potenza, but the local tackle shop was out of them... so got this newer Ganza instead).
It's available in in 5 different sizes for various types of fishing:
2403/030 - Holds 170m of 4lb Line
2403/035 - Holds 210m of 3lb Line
2403/040 - Holds 200m of 8lb line
2403/045 - Holds 230m of 10lb line
2403/050 - Holds 250m of 15lb line
I guess the 030 version is for general coarse fishing...... Roach / Rudd / Perch / small Tench, etc.
The 035 version is almost certainly for budding Bob Nudds & Alan Scotthorne's, as it's the only one in the range supplied with 2x Shallow Aluminium Match spools.
The 040 version is the one I've got, I reckon that it's best use is for Chub, Barbel & Larger Tench + Carp in low...

Advantages: Low price Disadvantages: Cheap and poorly manufactured
...Scierra reels are econmically priced but tend to be let down by poor manufacture. as in the IC3 a good reel with three spare spools and a cordura case to hold the reels it is a good buy.
The reel struggles in use as the cheaply made plastic spools are stiff and need to be sanded with a fine paper to get them to turn freely. They are not suitable for sea fly fishing as the o-ring under the spool traps sand and salt. The die cast alluminium cast is good and the change from left hand wind to right is a little fidly. All in all it is a good reel for the price and the three spare spools give you the flexibility of different lines....

Not bad sound quality, great power amplification, stunning design. Top of the "budget" range.
Shame it gets so hot - the cooling fins on the amp aren't too efficient, although it'll work fine it will burn your hand if you touch it after listening to... more
