I joined esporta a while ago, but didn't like it at all. Plus it was far more expensive! (and it didn't have squash)

Anyway, I joined the David Lloyd club in Birmingham a couple of years ago. I really like it there!

The facilities include:
-Squash
-Tennis
-Badminton
-swimming, both indoor and outdoor
-steam room
-sauna
-spa pool
-little kids pool
-large gym

The Gym includes a lot of machines, both weights and cardiovascular, I have yet to see them all in use at the same time, so you don't have to wait!
The Gym has:
-tredmills
-steper things
-bikes
-crosstrainer
-rowing machines
-all the normal weights
-and lots more!

There are spin bike classes in the gym, however when these are on the music is quite loud and the bikes are not contained. At esporta a seperate room housed the spin bikes.

The swimming pool is clean, and nice to swim in. The swimming pool has three lanes, but it is often fairly busy. The swimming pool is situated in the middle of the gym, which means it can be quite noisy at times. The steam room and sauna have recently been refitted. The steam room isn't as nice as esportas, but it's good enough
There is a life guard on until 9:00 I think, so it is adults only swimming after this point.

The restaurant is nice, although very expensive for what you are buying. For example a bottle of sprite (small bottle) costs 1.20 there, whereas from a newsagents it is about 75p.
The food is nice, but you do have to wait a long time for it to arrive.

You can apparently take your card and use it in other david lloyd clubs, we did try this once, but we were told we would have to pay... I think they have changed how it works now, but still wasn't very impressed with that.

Apart from all the bad points, i seriously reccomend joining! Really good fun.
The club also puts on functions for bonfire night, etc....

The English teacher in me wants to challenge you to remove the word 'nice' from your op, and put in something more specific! Sounds like a cool gym though. Sixty quid would be the average monthly gym fee here in Edinburgh so the expense is relative I guess. Cheers, Kaz
