This Gym is one of the best gym's i have been a member at, i was motivates and ready to start my gym life! i was so impressed when shown around it was great, David Lloyd in derby is on Pride park very close the the Derby county football ground, as i walked throught the doors i liked it instantaneously. it was big, even reception was large. they have squash courts available to play in and they are great as far as squash courts go, but there were a few too choose from,
Many many tennis courts at least 10 that i could count! along with badminton and table tennis. one tennis court outside, once we had been shown those we were shown the gym which starts down stairs and moves upwards, with a wide variety of work out mchinery from treadmills to the simple floor mats. one weight lifting section upstairs in one area and one down stairs which were all computerised. they even had a trampelene, walking past in to the changing rooms where you will never be short of space, they are very large and the lockers are not small either. approximately 12 shower cubicles in the mens with complimentary soaps.
Through to the pool and it is not small either, a jacuzzi next to a steam room, a shower and then a sauna, the jacuzzis great again fairly large and very comfortable, the steam room was not a steamy as i would have liked but once again it was large. the shower in the middle was powerfull and quick to temperature, and the sauna was great, big and warm, not to cramped.
the outside pool has got to be the best part for me, it's always warm. and not only that but it has an outside jacuzzi which is great especially at night, there is an outside bar next to the pool for the summer which is always a good thing.
The bar area was 1st class with leather seats and a large tv screen with sky, but the food was quite expensive especially for what you get and the monthly price is alot too, i was paying £52 for 1 month and i just could not justify that to my self, and so i left, if your thinking of joining just remember it's not just the cost per month it is also the joining fee which can be anything up to £100. although there are often reduced prices in winter and spring, i would wait until a deal comes a long where this fee is reduced.
this facility really is excellent just for those who can afford it!
