...from the Trafford Centre, the David Lloyd Leisure club, formally the Manchester Racquets & Healthtrack Club, has excellent facilities, both on a fitness level and on a social level.
The gym is marvellous, in a large area overlooking the swimming pool and has many of the top range exercise equipment available, handily arranged according to the type of exercise you want to do.
Upon joining, you can be assessed by one of the many professional advisors, ... ...to what you want out of the gym, be it to lose weight, gain weight or just stay trim.
The facilities for racquets sports are fantastic, with quality squash courts, badminton courts, and numerous tennis courts, both indoor and outdoor. Professional training for all these are available, from beginner level through to advanced.
The bar and eating area is fairly large, and there is an area for watching the large screen TV that shows live sports from ...

Quick review of David Lloyd Clubs, Manchester Review ofDavid Lloyd Clubs, Manchesterby
DLMember
I've been a member since May 2008 and overall myself and my partner have been very disappointed.
1. Very rarely is equipment in full working order. There are always machines broken and take an age to be fixed.
2. Just getting in the club can be a nightmare. To use a locker in the gents changing room you must first collect a padlock from reception, this means joining a queue with potential customers, people who are booking tennis courts etc. I regularly stand for 5 minutes or more waiting to be served and again on the way out.
3. There is always something broken, the men's toilets were broken for around 3 months.
4. Staff are pleasant but there is never enough of them, even at peak times!

A bit Pricey!! Review ofDavid Lloyd Clubs, Manchesterby
vljones81
Advantages: Range of stuff to do like tennis/badminton/squash/gym/swimming/sauna etc Disadvantages: Monthly membership fee price is expensive.
I joined David Lloyd with a friend a few months ago and although it is
expensive I do think its worth it. We got a deal where we got free joining
fee and we joined as a couple so that we got discounted monthly membership
fees. We had a look round David Lloyd before we joined and decided it was
what we wanted. But its definitely not the gym for a person who wants a
cheap and cheerful one.
One reason I chose to join is that it opens at 6.30am ... ...bothered dragging myself out of bed) and open until
about 10pm so I don't have to go straight after work if I want a bit of a
rest. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There gym is big so that
you can normally get on a piece of equipment quickly even if it is busy. The womens changing rooms are nice, clean and spacious, with 3 cubicles, and
all the showers are separate cubicles. The spa is lovely, and great place to relax after the gym. ...
