I played at Delta Force in Surrey last weekend and had an absolute blast. It was the third time I had been paintballing, and I won't go anywhere else but Delta Force in future.
I had thought that all paintball sites were pretty much the same, but this just isn't the case. One word could be used to sum up Delta Force - Quality!
The game zones were first rate: 1. Giant stone pyramid with tunnels and big (4m high zombie statues). I think it was called 'Mummy's Revenge'. 2. A MASSIVE two-storey fort which was awesome to play. 3. A zone with a real double-decker bus, a church, numerous other buildings and various military vehicles. 'London after the apocalypse'. 4. A realistic Vietnam Village. The game involved resucing a 'downed- American airman'. Cheesy maybe, but soooo much more fun than 'capturing th flag' which is all that was offered by the other places I have been. 5. Saving Private Ryan - an amazing sand covered arena - just like landing on those Normandy beaches. 6. 'Afghan fort' - a mujahedin basecamp with a cruise missile poking out of the roof. Ha ha - in Surrey! A real laught o play though. 7. There were others...
I knew we were onto a winner as soon as we arrived - to get into a basecamp you have to walk under a full sized (real) crashed helicopter with two 'dead' pilots hanging out of it. The site apparently bought this last year from the film set of 'Silent Witness'. The rest of the basecamp is equally stunning. So clean and organised!!!
As to equipment, it was top quality. brand new looking Inferno guns. But best of all were the goggles - they weren't just "goggles" (like everywhere else I'd been - they incorporated a full helmet too. I usually hate being shot in the head - coze it hurts like **** - now I don't care! The other thing was the FULL BODY ARMOUR! I had seen something like this before. But their kit was incredible - light, comfortable, and 100% effective. My mate's girlfriend (who only came along to keep him company coz they are in luv (aaahh) even joined in after the first game once she saw we weren't getting bruised).
The staff were very friendly and efficient too. Balls were 5p in bulk - which is as low as anywhere I have come accross.
I read another review on Delta Force which said it wasn't as good as the 'bigger' operator called 'Skirmish'. Hmmmmm .... I have played at Skirmish Lasham and it was OK, but it was small and a bit run-down when compared with Delta Force - and the game zones were not a patch on those at DF. Plus at Skirmish I got the head-wound of all time - it was still throbbing a week later. That could NOT happen at Delta Force. Sometimes maybe it's best to go with the smaller operator as they have to try harder.
Oh, one last thing Delta Force agreed to beat a special offer I had got to go back to Skirmish, so I managed to play at a much better place for less £££. FYI - I paid £4.95 per person to enter, and then bought balls in bulk with my mates (which worked at £5 per 100 shots). I thought this was really good value.
I know I sound like I work there, but I don't. I just loved the place that's all. Ciao.

Sounds like you had fun! I might recommend this to my brother for his birthday outing, hoping - of course - that he'll invite me along. Leigh :-)
