Advantages: Cheap, easy to use and well made Disadvantages: Not suited to all golfers. Not for the experts!
...they wanted in the different clubs.
If you pick up a set of Hippo Cavity backed irons such as the Plus Pro set I am reviewing, you will see the metal is thicker in certain places. This is to weight it correctly for playing your shots cleaner.
For those that don?t know, the clubs can vary in angle and length to achieve different results and distances . The longest club and least angled face club is a 2 Iron and the shortest and most angled (lofted) club is a Sand Wedge. The clubs in between vary across a scale between the 2. This means a set of irons can go from 2 ? 9, then a Pitching Wedge and lastly a Sand Wedge.
A 2 Iron hits it furthest and lowest. Built for distance. A Sand Wedge is built for getting you out of a bunker. It is made for height but very little distance.
The weighting of the irons varies too. To get the most out of it...

Advantages: Great name in golf balls Disadvantages: Not really for high handicappers
...I'm not really into the science of golf balls, all I know is that there are good balls and not so good balls. I wouldn't play with golf balls that cost 20p per ball such as Donnay because they don't feel nice to hit and yes on the golf course you just don't use Donnay to play low rounds and in tourneys.
I tried a titleist Pro V1X today in a Stableford tourney off white tees so I had a little extra yardage to play, I mostly use Titleist PTS Solo because they are designed for mid to high handicappers, and I can hit them, so they work for me. Titleist have brought out this new breed of ball, and as i said I don't know the science so i'm not going to say there is this and there is that, etc. All i know is that these balls are designed to cut out spin, have a lower flight and create more distance, however, I never saw any of that. To me...

Advantages: Challenging but accessible course for mid handicappers Disadvantages: Not hard enough for better players and not the best course in the area
...into play.
Location~
The course is located on Court Road, close to Junction 4 of the M25. Set against a rural background it gives the impression of being man made. That is when it was constructed the designers took a piece of open land and built the course - fairways, rough and trees - from scratch rather than carving it out of pre-existing forest or countryside. Set on quite high ground, relative to the surrounding area, it can be subjected to fairly strong winds and feel quite exposed.
Facilities~
The club has a large but not particularly well stocked pro shop. It has pretty much everything you need pre-round but nothing to encourage you to pay a visit when you're not playing. There is an adequate driving range but it's a bit scruffy and again is unlikely to draw you in if you're not playing. The minimum delivery is frustratingly set...
