Advantages: Great to look at Disadvantages: Wear and tear
...I like another reviewer have also experienced the parting of the upper leather casing around the toe from the soles of the boot. I regularly used these at least 3-4 times a week, sometimes more, and the excessive wear and tear did take their toll within a couple of months. But...this aside, I did buy another pair of these boots, purely because this is how much I rate them. I paid £60 for my first pair and £48 for my second and third spare pair.
These come with 2 different inner soles which can be changed to suit the ground that you are playing on, if it is soft ground than a hard/firmer sole is required, if it is a hard ground than the softer/more cushioned one should be used. I have found these to be a fantastic investment, and one I wouldd reccommend to others. I never experienced sore blisters or feet, but due to the leather being...

Advantages: Great all round membrane suit Disadvantages: Takes a couple of weeks to get one made
...I’ve had an Otter Tech Superskin for two and a half years and have done 125 dives in it now, I bought it solely on recommendations from the internet. The suit was made to measure and cost me 560 ukp, and that included a thinsulate undersuit. It has internal braces, apex inflation and autodump valves, “welly” style boots and a double zip. It came with heavy duty seals, the cuff seals are just starting to show a bit of wear now, the neck seal has been changed a couple of times as I’m a bit clumsy. The suit is an excellent fit and I can quite comfortably wear it for several hours at a time, the material is very strong and bouncing off wrecks has done no damage to it.
I can’t say enough about this suit, after diving with an 8mm neoprene suit previously, it excels....

Advantages: Control, power transfer, efficiency etc Disadvantages: You might fall off once or twice....
...cheaper though!
A lot of people worry that they won't be able to release from spds's; yes that can be a problem initially but I recently saw someone who's used to spd's fall off a bike equipped with toe clips!! It's all about what you're used to! I think I fell of mine about 3 or 4 times max due to not being able to release a pedal!
Time atacs generally have more float than spd's (5 degrees) which can help if you've got dodgy knees although some say they don't feel positive enough! They also clear better in muddy conditions making it easier to "find" the pedal.
Prices generally start at £15 -£20 for a basic set of spd copy pedals & go up to about £80 for top of the range shimano's & carbon Atacs.
Shoes can be picked up from £20 to £120 depending on spec but things to look for are warmth, sole stiffness (depending on how much walking...
