Advantages: great stopping power Disadvantages: none!
I have had several Hope brakes in my time including the Enduro, DH4 and mini, can't say I've ever been disappointed by any of them; easy to set up, control and maintain (not that they need it very often). Nevertheless, the brake pads are obviously crucial to the stopping power too and its only right that in my opinion Hope who make the best brakes in the world also make pads which are amongst the best available too... I sincerely believe that given ... ...else as the power, longevity and relative value for money that these represent is excellent. The only problem I have had with these in the past is that a set glazed over a little which meant I lost a little performance. No problem there, just removes the pads, rough them up a little and push them back in.
Very easy to replace and maintain, long lasting and top quality.
Highly recommended... ...

Advantages: Super strong and light, sealed bearings means it will work forever Disadvantages: 20mm axle means it wont work on all forks
...Another excellent product from the Hope range.
The hub is perfect for all types of riding, its light enough for xc riders and also strong enough for the downhill riders. It runs on sealed cartridge bearings that are easily changeable, instructions can be found on the Hope website. The hub body is made of cnc'd aluminum so its light and still strong. It also has the standard 6-bolt disc mount so its compatible with all brake systems. The 20mm axle means it creates a very stiff wheel and front end of the bike that will take all abuse. It comes in all the standard hope colours so you can easily match it to you colour scheme.
A superb hub well worth the money, it will last forever...

Advantages: 4 pot brake, hard wearing, solid build quality. Disadvantages: Difficult to set up.
...I bought these a couple of years ago and I have never ridden with a brake that is so good. I rode with maguras for a while and when I upgraded to the Hopediscs i could tell the difference immediately.
these brakes are used by some of the top riders in the world so that obviously shows that they are a top component to add to your bike.
Once set up they can be left until new pads are needed, they take a little time to set up however once they are done they are excellent, they do not need bleeding very often as they stop air getting into the system very well.
Do not buy any other brake system, this is the best and worth every penny....

Advantages: Singletrack, Marathon Machine Disadvantages: Don't try jumping on it
...many road miles and are still going strong. I also put a set of Hopediscs on The King, leaving the Hayes discs that came as standard for my road machine. I really like the WTB saddle on The King. I've always had a tender rear end, and the WTB saddle is a god send. The grips on the other hand look a bit naff and insubstantial, but after 18 months, they are still going strong. The Fox forks are very compitent as is the Fox RP3 shock
To date, other than changing a set of cables, and putting a new chain on it, The King has needed very little mantainence. The linkages are still working, although a little play is starting to develope, and I think the bushings will need replacing in the next couple of months.
If you already own, or have ridden a Kona, you'll recognise The King as soon as you throw your leg over the top tube. If you've never...
