Advantages: Excellent allignment, nice even balanced feel. Disadvantages: Not cheap, takes time to get used to.
My overall putting ability was never too bad but somedays it can be just plain awful, i decided after much deliberation that i needed a better tool for the job, i was fed up of missing short putts for par and walking away feeling like i could have done better, so i went out and spent £50 for a 2nd hand Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter - im glad i did, mostly.
First of all i would like to say that to improve at any sport theres nothing like practice, then more practice, this is especially true for golf, and none more so than the art of putting, after all its on the putting green where you play most of your shots (an average score of 90 would usually entail 35-40 putts, you use the putter more than any other club in your bag),
The Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter is no gimme, you wont pick it up and start to hole everything on sight ...
Advantages: Great for getting kids into golf Disadvantages: Not of a high standard
I got a young gun putter a number of years ago now, but still have it. The young gun brand is very well known in America, where I used to live, and is the choice of many to get children into golf. The clubs are reasonably priced compared to other brands, which helps as I know that golf is an expensive sport to get into. At a price of around £10-15, this is very good, but the rest of the clubs needed to play must be taken into consideration.
As for the club itself, in my experience I have found it to be a very good beginners club, it give a reasonably good contact with the ball, it is also very durable as I have still got mine in good condition after a number of years, but obviously isn't of a fantastic standard. The putter is made from lightweight materials to make it easy for children to use. The club isn't as performance ...
Advantages: well balanced, excellent feel Disadvantages: none
What makes Taylormade Nubbins a great putter is, its a well balanced putter, great to use and has a great feel. I don't know the science so i'm not going to try to explain but my Taylormade nubbins bls really works for me. Ive tried a few putters in my time, putters from MD Golf, Wilson Deep Red, and a Bronty but the Taylormade exceeds all of them. The face of the putter has a 'bobbly' like face made from a soft rubber that actually makes a great contact with the ball. i found that it is nicely balanced and makes the ball go straight if you make a good through contact. Initaially i had problems with the feel and made a few bad putts, sending the ball way past and often short, but after a few rounds i got a great feel of the putter and never really missed a putt more than 2 feet, I often only had 2 putts on a green (getting to the green ...
