...and sell it though. I have a different (cheaper make) synthetic saddle for my youngster. I do think they are good for youngsters as they change shape. The cheaper ones you can buy from Ebay for around £50. The Wintec 200 are more but they are good quality. Leather saddles new are around £700 (depending on make) and £300 - £400 for a decent second hand one. Why doesn`t everyone have synthetic? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Many people prefer leather and will not try synthetic. In the show ring, synthetic saddles are often frowned upon (I would have thought at bigger shows rather than local ones). I have a leather saddle for my older horse. In use I found the saddle to be very comfortable for me, the rider. It is also extremely easy to care for - no saddle soap required, just some water and a stiff brush and it comes up like new. If you really wanted to, you could hose it down without damaging it. It is light weight, making it easy to handle, and it does a really good job of imitating leather, so it looks great too. All the stitching is high quality as are the materials. I found it did pick up hairs easily, but they were simple to get rid of with a soft brush. Advantages: Moulds to your body, great protection
Disadvantages: Bit pricey

..., it is robust and a very comfortable fit, after only a couple of rides the initial stiffness soon went away and the protector began to mould around the body and did not restrict my movement in any way, the cummerbund on the rear ensures that it stays in place even while jumping, fortunately it has not yet been put to the ultimate test following a fall but I've every confidence in its reliability. It is easy to care for the protector, cleaning should be in warm soapy water using a normal washing powder and the garment is best stored on a hanger and well ventilated. Definitely one I would recommend and it is available in a range of sizes from x-small child up to large adult. Mine is black in colour however a blue one was available in the shop.
