Advantages: Two colours, easy to apply Disadvantages: Melts in heat
...Effol Hoof Ointment strengthens the hooves and encourages healthy hoof growth. The hooves are strengthened and supported in their natural development. Effol Hoof Ointment makes the hooves more elastic thus protecting them against cracks even under extreme conditions.
I have used Effol for years on all my horses young and old. Im not one that uses this everyday as it will just eventually ruin their hooves as they need moisture from the ground and air but occasionally a little something is needed especially in the summer season.
Effoil ointment can come in two colour black or green and in two sizes large or small!
Now my one horse as predominantly white feet and the other has all black feet now which colour! I opted for the green as both my horses have white/ dark grey legs so I thought green was least likely to stain and the black...

Advantages: Looks nice, may enhance condition. Disadvantages: May not enhance condition.
...I am not one for frequently oiling my horses hooves, but I do sometimes and Effol is the brand that I use. It has lasted me years, partly because I don`t use it much and partly because a little goes a long way. My farrier doesn`t advocate oiling, so is there any point?

The Cottage Craft Padded Leather Headcollar is leather available in black or havana. I have a black one. It has a bit of padding over the crown and nose. Leather headcollars are made fairly thick, thicker than bridles, so they can be quite stiff. The padding is for the horses comfort. It is a smart looking headcollar, priced at £19.99 and has brass fittings. There is a clip on the right hand side attaching the throat piece to the headpiece which looks smart...
