The M100 Lotus Elan: a classic roadster

Advantages: Classic good looks and affordable rag-top fun
Disadvantages: Leak-prone hood

another Elan owner who didn't experience a leaky hood - be it a few drops or the need to drive with a towel draped elegantly across their right thigh! They ALL leak, some more than others, but this in no way decreases the joy of owning an Elan - you get used to it, work around it or bankrupt yourself trying to eliminate it! When the Elan had been standing - especially outside - I found the turbo waste-gate (if that's how you spell it!) would stick and prevent the engine revving over 4,000rpm. That famous cure-all: WD40 seemed to do the trick though! The cam-angle sensor is a notorious cause of the "check-engine" light appearing on the dash and this is an important question to ask any seller when looking to purchase an Elan of your own. Prior to owning the Elan, my vehicle history consisted of a beaten-up Ford Fiesta and my mum's old ...

Running a used A4 3.0 Quattro Saloon

Advantages: Performance, Build Quality, Reliability, and Practicality.
Disadvantages: Running costs may not suit all people.

This is my second Audi A4, and I bought it on the strength of my experiences with my previous A4. My car is a 2002 model 3.0 Quattro Sport with the 6 speed manual ?box. I bought this car used with 55,000 miles on the clock 6 months ago, replacing my previous car, which had covered 107,000 miles. The key strengths of this car are much the same as the previous car, namely: Reliability, Build quality, Comfort, Practicality, and Driving Involvement. I bought this car, as I also wanted more performance, as well as a newer car with lower mileage. The 3.0 6-cylinder engine is wonderfully smooth and quiet in general driving, while under harder acceleration it provides a suitably sporting growl. The six-speed ?box doesn?t rev any lower in top gear than my 2.0?s 5 speed, but the closer ratios make it extremely flexible for open road/A road ...

Elan dual fuel

Advantages: two ovens and seperate grill, 6 rings
Disadvantages: top is difficult to keep clean

I have my Elan Dual fuel range 3 months now and find it brilliant to cook with. I wanted a range that looked good and was usefull and the elan certainly delivers on both. The wok cradle is particulary usefull. The ovens are spacious and the smaller one has a roasting tray (which is detachable) which is attached to the door so no need to lift out heavy roasting tins to baste your meat. I do find cleaning the top around the rings a bit of a chore but it's worth it. The Elan is very straight forward to use. The pan drawer is useful for storing baking trays. There is a simpal to use timer and a child lock to stop the range working if young children turn the dials ...
