Advantages: waterproof, easy to apply, no clumps, long lasting, nice effect, good quality, gentle on my eyes Disadvantages: hard to remove, the non-waterproof version allows you to achieve more dramatic effects, expensive
Like most women, I am on what appears to be a life-long quest to find the perfect mascara! When a friend recommended the Boots No.7 extreme length mascara I brought one. I really liked it and infact liked it so much that it eventually ran out (and that?s good for me as normally I get bored before it runs out!). A couple of days before my Nan?s funeral I realised that I did not own a waterproof mascara. Knowing that I would need one, I headed off to Boots to find something appropriate. I noticed that No.7 had just launched the waterproof version of their Extreme Length Mascara. It was quite pricey at £12 but I didn?t mind paying it as I had been a fan of the non-waterproof version.
I decided to test the mascara as soon as I got home as I have very sensitive eyes and usually find that I react badly to waterproof mascaras which is why I ...
Advantages: Will enhance riding confort and performance by untold amounts Disadvantages: Quite expensive at c.£50
Being an increasingly keen participant in cross country mountain biking, I decided to kit myself out with the necessary clothing to ease the pain of those long rides. Not being one who is easily conned by clever marketing, and of course being a lifelong sceptic, it was out of character for me to follow recommendations to buy the Endura MT500 short. These may initially seem expensive at around £50, but believe me, for the money you will not be able to find any better. Long climbs become suddenly more comfortable, and you don't get the chafe around the seams as you would with cheaper shorts.
The kevlar seams are fully flatlocked, giving the short superb flexibility, and removes the embarrassing worry of the short giving way when the going gets a bit rough (see gorse grass and bramble attacks!). Further durability is provided by ...
Advantages: Cheap, comes out black Disadvantages: Smudges, impossible to get off, needs a few coats
I've been using Boots No7 waterproof volume mascara for ages, but last week I thought I would try something new. I've been pleased with Rimmel make-up before but had never tried one of the mascaras. It was only £4.90 from Superdrug, which was a lot cheaper than the £9 I'd been paying for No7. I always go for volume mascaras to open up my eyes in the morning when I'm still half asleep! And always waterproof ones which is why I went for this particular one.
Packaging
It comes in a blue bottle, with a modern shape, with Rimmel Volume flash written across it in silver lettering. The bottle is quite a good size and overall it looks good.
The Mascara
The mascara has a thin brush applicator but with really short bristles, almost like one that has already been used loads. I'm not sure if this is a design feature that is ...
