Learn to hunt Basil Brush kids
Review of Brampton Stables by atticusuk

Advantages: Great tuition and safe
Disadvantages: Parking could get a problem

Brampton Stables is a super business and a great place to learn to ride. Much of my review will be written based upon the stables as a riding school however they also offer a full livery service for those wishing to keep their horses there and while I have to endure an annual nag fest from my daughter regarding her wish to own a horse I have so far resisted based on the fact that it is rather expensive and very time consuming even if you opt for ...
...that they went to. Brampton Stables is located in the lovely Northamptonshire village of Church Brampton which is about five miles from Northampton just off Stables Lane. There is a drive which shares access to a number of properties, currently the old stable yard is being converted to residential houses however a new set of state of the art stables have been built which provide a far superior living space for the horses. The centre is blessed ... Read review

Callum Park Riding Centre
Review of Callum Park Riding Centre by ryan23

Advantages: Good instructors; lovely horses and very patient instructors
Disadvantages: Can be pricey if you have private lessons, but other than that there are none.

...am an older rider at Callum Park and I would say to anyone who is thinking of taking up horse riding - then this is the place to come if you live within travelling distance. Yes it is a bit expensive, but all decent riding schools are nowadays. Whether you want to just learn the basics, or develop skills in jumping and dressage, there are instructors and horses to suit your requirements. I regularly join the hacks in the summer months and I also ...
...I enjoy. I have also learned a lot and my basic riding skills have really improved. I would urge anyone to give it a go. As long as you have the correct riding wear, then the only expense is the weekly lesson (and if you join in group lessons then the cost is very reasonable). Go on, have a go, you won't regret it. ... Callum Park Equestrian Centre
Review of Callum Park Riding Centre by Medley321

Advantages: Friendly, dedicated staff. Excellent choice of horses.
Disadvantages: The price (but that is the same everywhere).

...been having riding lessons at Callum Park for the last two years. I am sure that I have challenged some of the instructors, as I am in my 50s and had not ridden for 30-odd years! Everyone is helpful and the instructors are willing to let you progress at your own pace (helpful when you have had a fall and lost confidence for a while). Although a bit pricey, the horses are rested for two days each week, and never work for more than four hours on any ...
...has lessons at Callum Park and has made good progress. Hacks are available in the Summer months, and there is an indoor school and two large outdoor maneges. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff or the horses. I plan to continue riding there for many years to come. ... Read review

Fantastic place
Review of Raygill Riding Centre by Poica

Advantages: Excellent teaching, lovely horses, friendly staff, beautiful countryside, plenty of care taken
Disadvantages: Slightly lumpy beds.

My friends and I went on a week-long holiday here recently and were blown away by the friendliness of everyone on site. Everyone is welcoming and friendly, take excellent care of you even if you are nervous on horseback and make everything you do enjoyable. The horses are sweet and good-natured, though for more experienced riders there is provision for a more challenging horse. We found the assessment of our individual abilities spot on, and despite ...
...came away feeling challenged. The lessons here are well-structured and take you through basic riding skills to more challenging technical work - we had a fun lesson based around leg-yielding! We helped out as much as possible with horse-care, though we were made aware that it was optional, so if you'd rather just ride that's fine. Attention was paid to our every need, and the meals provided were wonderful. The only slight criticism (and it really ... Read review

Best riding school in the area
Review of Snowdon Farm Riding School by hhuk

Advantages: excellent tuition and horses
Disadvantages: might have to wait to get a place

I used to ride at snowdon but stopped when i got my own horse as i couldn't afford both. I went their for several years after starting riding at another school that although it became an ABRS school it was actually shocking. On discovering Snowdon, i had to wait to get a place but it was worth the wait as the tuiton, facilities and horses were all fantastic. i had many class lessons and a few privates and learnt a lot of new skills. I wouldnt class ... Read review
