The Esporta at Salford Quays is probably one of the best in the Manchester area in terms of cleanliness, service, appearance, and equipment. It is lacking mainly in size of the pool, and perhaps location, but the location depends on where you live, so it may be very convenient!

The Esporta at Salford Quays is probably one of the best in the Manchester area in terms of cleanliness, service, appearance, and equipment. It is lacking mainly in size of the pool, and perhaps location, but the location depends on where you live, so it may be very convenient!
The fitness area includes two levels of machines for Cardio: stationary cycles, sitting cycles, rowing machines, treadmills, step machines, and a variety of other equipment ... ...machines, arm machines, and a variety of specialized equipment for hamstrings and tummy exercises.
Free weights: all the necessary weights and bars you could need.
Stretching/fitness ball area: a floorspace with area for stretching, using small freeweights, or fitness balls.
Spin room: enough room for maybe 30 people (i.e. stationary spin cycles).
Fitness hall: a large area for other aerobics classes.

I stayed at the Tulip Inn (Trafford Centre) early in August as the Arctic Monkeys were playing at Lancashire Cricket Ground.
When we arrived the car park was quite full but had plenty of spaces, even though the hotel very obviously very busy.
