I go camping a lot! It would be fair to say that I enjoy it, very much! So it won't suprise you to learn that I love checking out camping shops for little gadgets or something new to experiment with.

When it comes to going away, you want to reduce the bulk of whatever you're taking. Even more so when camping, because if you're camping properly you want to go back to basics as much as you can!

This cookset made by Eurohike is brilliant! It's desgin means that you can easily nest each pot and pan inside one another to create a small bundle. Very space saving, very practical. A travel/carry bag is provided with the set.

Made of Aluminium, this cookset is very light. An obvious downside to being made of metal however, is the heat conducting qualities. So when cooking with the set you need to be constantly aware of how hot it may be to touch.

The Adventure Cookset can be purchased with or without the burner. With the burner the set costs £19.99, without it costs £14.99. Both available through millets at these prices. Which I think is a bargain! If you want to use the cookset as a means of cooking, you definitely need to purchase the set with the burner. However if you are looking to purchase extra cookware for your camping holidays and want it cheaply then the set without the burner is a cheap way of doing this.

Once all of the pots and pans have been removed from themselves, the set fits together very easily. The base with the air holes in is placed on the floor. This has a large diameter so gives a stable surface on which to cook. The windsheild then slots on to this to protect the burner from the wind. The burner itself sits in the centre of the base. Methylated spirit is used on this cooking set. The spirit is poured into the burner and simplt set alight. A large flame burns centrally and can be reduced in size by applying the sliding lid device. The windshield has 3 arms that extend towards the middle of the burner allowing the pots and pans to sit directly above the flame.

The Set contains the following to cook with -

- 16cm Saucepan
- 18cm Saucepan
- 17cm Frying Pan
- Small Pan Handle (for use with all pans)
- Kettle

The use of Methylated Spirit means that you don't need to lug a heavy gas canister around with you. Or repeatedly pay out for replacement canisters. On my last trip, we took a 500ml bottle of Meths with us, and we used it up in 2 days. 500ml costs around £1.98. If you're going for longer than 2 nights then buying a bigger bottle would be a better option. The first time the burner is used it seems quite hard to light and guzzles the spirit but think of this as wearing it in. It soon settles down, and you get used to using it.

One thing I definitely suggest taking with your set, are long matches, because you do not want your hands anywhere near the burner when lighting. Meths is very flamable and so spillages should be avoided. The flame is sometimes hard to see, and so caution needs to be taken and the fumes from Meths should not be inhailed. Don't use it in or next to your tent! (but then this applies to all forms of cooking appliance)!

The level of heat generated heats and cooks food relatively quickly. And when up to temperature, the food gets very hot and will burn. So meat can be cooked on here with no problems.

Once used, the pots and pans will have marking on the underside from the flame. If cleaned regularly this almost completely comes off. However, camping equipment is designed to use, thats why you bought it. So keeping the set pristine is not really an option.

As with all cookware, it's obviously best to use wooden utensils to avoid scratching.

I think that pretty much covers everything I have on this product. It is brilliant. Great for camping. Absolute value for money. I hope this has been informative! x
