Advantages: Easy and straight forward to erect. Disadvantages: Not suitable for a larger family.
Not- is the continuation of the title, especially when its your first time camping with them, Callum 2 years 8 months and Lucy 10mths (fast crawler!). This was also the first time my husband had put up this tent, and it was late and we were both tired hungry and irritable and so were the kids.
Now add windy to this scene as well and me having to hold on to the tent whilst hubby knocks in the pegs and if I had been watchinh instead of doing then I would probably have been in hysterics.
The tent though, getting back to the subject on hand, is a brilliant design it goes up very easily and this was the first time my hubby had put up this tent it was very straightforward and he reckons that he will be bale to do it on his own next time, which is good news for me.
Anyway let me describe this marvellous item to you it has:

Advantages: cost, easy to put up, replaceable poles Disadvantages: outer rips easily, groundsheet wears easily
This 3 man tent was bought for wild camping expeditions in lowland areas. I had hoped it would withstand being put up and down by enthusiastic teenagers! It can be purchased from Millets for a cost of £49.99. It weighs 4.9 Kg and has a hydrostatic head of 2000mm (most start from about 1500mm). Durability:

Advantages: value for money, ease of erecting, space, ventilation, weight Disadvantages: ventilation, mine leaked
I bought this tent from a discount online store.
This is a tunnel tent and relies entirely on being properly pegged to stay erect but once it's pitched I found it more stable in the wind than any dome. On my own I can have it up in 5 minutes.
The living area is almost the same size as the inner tent and big enough to kneel up in. The tent comfortably sleeps 2 adults and accomodates 2 adults and a small child. The living area sets it apart from any dome tent especially for camping in the UK where the weather is so unpredictable. You could easily cook and spend a few hours in there without feeling uncomfortable!
It's also good for cycling as bikes and luggage can be stored in the front and it only weighs 4.2kg which is a good bit less than similar makes.
Inner tent has a lot of vents; good for summer but if it's cold ...
