The Couch Potato Strides Out
Review of LifeFitness 4500HR Treadmill by
Newfloridian
Advantages: An easy to use, heavy duty aid to personal fitness and well being
Disadvantages: Initially costly but otherwise none
...between 3.2 and 7.2 kph with variable inclines.
‘5Km jog’: sets speeds between 6.4 and 11.2 kph with variable inclines.
’45 minute cross train’: a combination of the previous two programmes.
The treadmill in use
It takes time to get the feel of any apparatus and exercise regime. After about six months I had developed and refined a series of programmes with which I was comfortable. My current schedule lasts for about 40 minutes which I carry out (most weeks) about five days a week.
‘Hill’: Level 9; Speed 6 kph; Time 15 mins; Distance 1.56 Km; Calories burned 206
This is a good warm up. The speed is comfortable. I feel moist but ready to go on at the end of it.
‘Random’: Level 9; Speed 6.6 kph; Time 15 mins; Distance 1.71Km, Calories 235
My personal favourite regime. It is unpredictable. I increase the speed to a fast walk...

Slam Man Professional Boxing Toy
Review of FitnessQuest Slamman by
stevenstel
Advantages: Computer data, movable (just) is a great talking point
Disadvantages: Long time to set up, computer can be a bit slow
...can adjust by a little wheel at the bottom of the torso, depends on how hard you have to hit the light for it to go out. (this can take some effort - ha ha ha) This computer itself takes 2 pencil batteries. (AA - I think) and it features an auto shut off so it doesnt drain the batteries when your on the floor passed out! :P
The computer will randomly light up lights on the slam man, you have to follow the computer, data is then recorded and statistics are given following the programme you selected. telling you how many punches you have thrown, how long you have been punching etc.
What are these programmes?
The slam man has 3 modes, and 5 levels for each mode, the levels indicate what speed the lights are animated, the higher the level, the faster the lights appear, (remember its your job to follow them by punching them...

A new image for Saracen?
Review of Saracen X-ESS by
Stevehagerty
Advantages: FANTASTIC FORKS
Disadvantages: Naff Components,
...and Bob's your uncle, although a vertical dropout would be better and much easier for removing the wheel.
The wheels supplied are, well, rubbish, I seriously buckled them on a mini jump, although it is not too expensive to true them it is still time wasting AND money wasting. High wall rims and Presta valves do not mix! My pump requires that you push all of the valve into it, i can only fit around 1/4 of it in, so i need to use my friends pump.
The hubs are great hubs (shimano deore) and i have no problems with them.
The pedals are great, really grippy, and randomly red! They have seized up though, so without anti-seizure formula i cant take them off.
The crank arms, FANTASTIC, Truvativ Husselfelt, again standard issue on most jump bikes, and a lot of others, they're rock solid and reliable!
Chain device, again Truvativ...
