When I first had my baby I found it really difficult to get her to sleep. I tried all sorts from leaving a lava lamp on nearby, playing music, having the room in darkness etc etc. In the end i found that leaving the TV on was a good way to get baby Hope to sleep! She would watch the images and the noises would be reassuring but I realised I couldn't have her falling asleep in front of the TV for ever more! So I went on a hunt for a toy for her room which would hopefully do as good a job as the TV did!

The Bear is one of my husbands favourite films and he has been trying to get it on DVD for a very long time so I decided I would treat him for when he returned home from Afghan. The only trouble with getting it for him is that he wanted me to watch it with him!
THE FILM
The film is set in the mountains of British Columbia in 1885.
The film is based on a bear cub who looses his mother when a big rock falls on her. He is left all alone struggling to survive. He comes across a giant male bear but the bear wants nothing to do with the cub as the male bears do not rear the cubs.
The male bear gets shot by hunters who are out in the forest looking for a kill. The wounded bear goes off and tries to heal his wound. The brave bear cub goes over to him and helps him by licking his wound. The male bear befriends the cub and decides ...

To turn the machine on you press a large musical note on the plastic and now Baby B is able to turn over and press it herself so she has great fun pressing at it and turning the light and music on herself!
It is ran off batteries and they have lasted quite a while. I've found if you make sure you turn the machine off when out of use instead of on standby (where it detects crying and starts again) then it saves batteries a lot!
I really can't rate this machine high enough. We bought it with the hope that it would work and now we take it with us if we go away for an evening as she loves it so much. It has been one of the best buys we have made since having her it was well worth the £25 we paid for it. I can't recommend itu enough! Go and buy one! ...
