Mortal Kombat (Mega Drive)

Advantages: Plenty of gore
Disadvantages: Similar fighting styles and end boss too easy to defeat

memory the cheat was to enter ABACABB during the title sequence (a reference to a genesis album as the mega drive was also known as the sega genesis) and there you were, ready to fight one on one like in street fighter but with on a whole new level. As in street fighter, the aim of this game was to choose a fighter, defeat all comers in a tournament and then go on to fight the end boss, like SF each character had their own distinctive look, style of fighting, levels of damage, reach and special moves. Each one also had their own fatality which was a new edition to fighting games whereby after the beating of an opponent, the player had a few extra seconds while unconcious to inflict a disturbing finishing move which varied from ripping someones head off to electrifying them to death. When you start a game you can choose to play as either ...

Theme Park - Mega Drive

Advantages: Create your own theme park man!!
Disadvantages: Can be a little hard at times and a little repititive

boring. Also as with most sims, this was a one player only so your pals couldnt get involved, graphic however were good for its time. Bright and colourful But its a really good game and although i dont have my mega drive anymore, its available on most formats and a newer, updated version too where you can actually go on the rides to test them out! Theme Hospital is also worth a look if you like this which was the sequel and another fun management construction sim. Enjoy and live the dream! ...

The Mega-Drive's finest hour

Advantages: Amazing graphics, original, enjoyable, fabulous level design, groundbreaking
Disadvantages: Erm...A little too tricky for kids?

The fact that Flashback has been almost completely forgotten in recent years simply astonishes me. For a game so groundbreaking and to have set so many new standards, it is comparable to the likes of Doom, Final Fantasy VII and Grand Theft Auto 3, and will they be forgotten less than a decade after original release? No chance. 16-bit console owners had things pretty easy for years. We all seemed pretty content to sample in the simple delights of Sonic and Mario, but in 1993 along came an adventure from U.S Gold that would give 2D-gaming a much needed kick up the backside, and earn it's place among the very best of all-time. The Sega Mega-Drive version of Flashback (also released on the SNES, Amiga and P.C) sees Conrad Hart conducting a scientific experiment examing the levels of molecular-density in humans - his results show that ...
