Stella

Advantages: Nice Crisp Taste
Disadvantages: Can get you drunk very quickly

So its the first time you walked into a pub, your still 16 and faced the bar trying to make up your mind about what to drink. Then something suddenly hits you that maybe you should try Stella it sounds cool. That first decision came 4 years ago in a pub that no longer bears the same name, however unlike the pub my drinking habits haven't changed dramatically. One of Belgium's more famous beer exports Stella has been around since 1717 when Sebastian Artois bought the Duchy of Leuven Brewery in Den Horen and originally started brewing Stella. The brewery had been brewing beer since 1366 but really took off after the brewery was bought. Blame it on the Stella!!

Advantages: High alcohol content, crisp and fresh taste.
Disadvantages: High alcohol content, more expensive than most other beers.

In life we seem to blame anyone or anything for all sorts things that go wrong, but there?s one culprit who probably gets more than his fair share of blame. The Stella. Lets be honest lads it?s happened to us all; a few pints of Stella the night before somehow turned that thing lying next to you on the Sunday morning into Kylie and to save face you tell her that the front door is [honestly] damaged, and that she really does have to leave via your bedroom window and slide down the drain pipe. Having said that, a few pints of the stuff the next weekend will result in you finding her even worse mate looking just as ?beautiful? come closing time. Any bloke that says this hasn?t happened to him is either a liar or even worse looking that the girl and got knocked back. With an alcohol content of 5.2%, Stella Artois is one ...

Ane Stella or twa

Advantages: Cheap, refreshing and all too readily available
Disadvantages: Nothing more than OK

MIDSUMMER. It conjures up all kinds of images of pagan celebrations, doesn't it? No, it doesn't for me either. What it does mean to me is that these are the longest days of the year. In my part of the world, it doesn't really get very dark - it just gets dim for 2-3 hours. Now this would be fine if the sun was shining and indeed this is usually when we get our best weather. But not today. I can't see even the most miniscule bit of blue in the sky - at least the sky is a kind of LIGHT GREY though, and it's not raining...YET. It is 1pm and it is 15C, or 60F. PHEW! Midsummer? You can stick it. Anyway.... Summer's the time for picnics and BBQ's, isn't it? Of course it is. So time to peel a few haggis's, baste those neeps in virgin olive oil, deep fry a couple of mars bars and pop open the Stella Artois. Now why in ...
