It is not a common sight to see a well respected mountain bike company cross to makeing high quality BMX bikes. But specialized ahve certainly come very close. For a mountain biker or a BMXer a specialised 415 comes very close to being up there with the best of the BMX bikes. But they fell down on one key aspect of the conversion from Mountain bikes to the very different BMX bikes. There managed to change the geometry, the accesories and even the brakes but there is one place that they messed up big time. It is just tooooooo heavy. They are too used to there heavy mountain bikes that in my eyes they have spoiled an otherwise floorless BMX. i eagerly await the 2002 edition as if the weight problem is tackled it will be a great all round bike!!
