I'M YOUR FATHER
Review of Pole Elastic Future by BJEEE

Advantages: High stretch, resiliant, cheap, strong, good range of strengths and funky colours.
Disadvantages: None none none

...from the inside of the pole as the fish pulls, meaning that it can run against the elastics resistance and tire itself (before the fisher dude pulls him in). Different strengths of elastic are available. When fishing for bigger fish you obviously need a stronger elastic. Since I began my (boring I know) fishing exploits many many years ago, elastic development has gone quite a long way. While there used to be only 3 main manufacturers, it also used ...
...actually putting them on useful pole winders, but these ones do the job. The elastic is normally sold in 5m lengths but recently a new range has come out where they’re selling it by the 7m load. In such long lengths it means that you can often get 3 ‘replacements out of each one, making it very much worth its £2.50 price tag. Luckily for you, that’s all I have to say. If you can think of anything I haven’t covered (which there ... Read review

Simple, effective but does the job
Review of Fox mini microns by yackers1

Advantages: small, simple and reliable
Disadvantages: can't think of any

There are many different types of electronic bite alarms on the market. Some are good, some aren't. Some have many functions, some don't. There appears to be a trend to have alarms where you can crank the sensitivity right up to detect line bites, waves and wind movements. Infact, everything but an actual run. What is the point in knowing when fry fish bang in to the line? What is the point in knowing when a fish is 'playing' around with the hook ...
...is when the fish picks up the bait and starts to move off with it. There is nothing more annoying than sitting in your swim, waiting for Moby Dick to bite, when the bloke opposites alarms are going off almost constantly - registering wind, waves, ground vibrations rocking the rods etc. I think some carp anglers like the attention. Maybe it makes them feel good when other anglers (whose alarms are silent) look over and wish it was their alarms making ... Read review

Light weight but not for everyone
Review of Wychwood Super Light Bedchair by yackers1

Advantages: Exceptinally light, very comfortable
Disadvantages: expensive compare to other 2 leg bed chairs

...dealers that I found the Wychwood Superlight. The superlight is available in both two leg and 3 leg, depending on how clumsy/heavy you are. I have always bought 2 leg chairs since these tend to be a bit smaller, and lighter. The superlight 2 leg is not the most comfortable bed chair on the market (it is no cocoon) but it is by far means not the most uncomfortable chair. Besides, I don't want anything to comfortable otherwise I end up actually ...
...The 2 leg is rated to 15 stone and is perfectly wide enough for the average man. I do not know how a larger framed man would find it. In 2 leg form the bed chair is perfectly stable enough, unless you are a fidgety sleeper, or like to have fun whilst fishing ; ) A bit of care is needed when sitting down, and getting up to ensure that the chair doesn't tip over. The best thing about the superlight, as its name suggests, is it's weight. The 2 leg ... Read review

The undisputed king of bivvies - the Nash Titan
Review of Kevin Nash Titan by yackers1

Advantages: Strong, stable and versatile
Disadvantages: expensive and heavy

The Kevin Nash Titan is the undisputed king of bivvies,it is the Rolls Royce of bivvies, that has been around for years and does not look like it will die. A friend purchased a 'slippery eel' version and as soon as I set foot in it I had to have one. The Viper FSTT had just been released and with a price tag of just below £390 it was not cheap. However, I had to buy one. My Giant Dome had seen better days and it was about time for an upgrade. ...
...are no poles to thread and the canvass is permanently attached to the frame. Once the base unit is set up it is just a matter of pegging it all down and then attaching the front panel. There tends to be a fashion for 'pull round' tyoe bivvies like the Armadillo. However, in my opinion these are no where near as good as the Titan. Where the Titan wins is in its versatility. On hot days and warm nights it can be used without the front panel - and ... Read review

Snowbee XS Weight Forward 7 Floating Line
Review of Snowbee XS Floating Fly Line by Woodsa12

Advantages: Slick, shoots VERY easily, presentation, durability
Disadvantages: Discolours

...I bought my first Snowbee line 5 years ago just as they started hitting the market. I had used many brands of lines up until then - Cortland, Lureflash, Airflo and was currently using a Shakespeare Worcestershire, and then I bought this 'new' line from a company who, at the time, mainly made waders The lines were simply called Snowbee Prestige lines then. At the time, the Prestige line felt good. Easy to cast, shot through the rings well and was ...
...served me well for 4 seasons before it was time to change. Of course, in this time the Prestige had become the XS and cost a little, but not a lot, more. Could it live up to the Prestige line I had grown fond of over the last 4 season? I had no need to worry!!!!!!! The XS is simply superb!!!! This is without a doubt the best floating line I have ever used. With this line I have added an extra 5-6 yards onto my cast with no extra effort. The line ... Read review
