Simple, effective but does the job
Advantages: small, simple and reliable Disadvantages: can't think of any
There are many different types of electronic bite alarms on the market. Some are good, some aren't. Some have many functions, some don't.
There appears to be a trend to have alarms where you can crank the sensitivity right up to detect line bites, waves and wind movements. Infact, everything but an actual run.
What is the point in knowing when fry fish bang in to the line? What is the point in knowing when a fish is 'playing' around with the hook ... ...is when the fish picks up the bait and starts to move off with it.
There is nothing more annoying than sitting in your swim, waiting for Moby Dick to bite, when the bloke opposites alarms are going off almost constantly - registering wind, waves, ground vibrations rocking the rods etc. I think some carp anglers like the attention. Maybe it makes them feel good when other anglers (whose alarms are silent) look over and wish it was their alarms making ...

Light weight but not for everyone
Advantages: Exceptinally light, very comfortable Disadvantages: expensive compare to other 2 leg bed chairs
...dealers that I found the Wychwood Superlight.
The superlight is available in both two leg and 3 leg, depending on how clumsy/heavy you are.
I have always bought 2 leg chairs since these tend to be a bit smaller, and lighter.
The superlight 2 leg is not the most comfortable bed chair on the market (it is no cocoon) but it is by far means not the most uncomfortable chair. Besides, I don't want anything to comfortable otherwise I end up actually ... ...The 2 leg is rated to 15 stone and is perfectly wide enough for the average man. I do not know how a larger framed man would find it. In 2 leg form the bed chair is perfectly stable enough, unless you are a fidgety sleeper, or like to have fun whilst fishing ; ) A bit of care is needed when sitting down, and getting up to ensure that the chair doesn't tip over.
The best thing about the superlight, as its name suggests, is it's weight. The 2 leg ...

5 star luxury on the river bank courtesy of Kevin Nash
Advantages: Strong, stable and versatile Disadvantages: expensive and heavy
...manufacturers of fishing accessories (Fox, Kevin Nash, Badger, Armadillo, Shakespeare, Daiwa etc.) make many different models of bivvy and you will find one to suit all tastes and all budgets.
The range of bivvies is huge and they are available in different materials (nylon and canvass amongst others), different sizes and with different features etc. however, essentially all bivvies are dome shaped.
****The Nash Viper TT (“Viper”)****
The Viper ... ...zipped on to make it in to a full shelter. As well as being bigger than a traditional brolly, the Viper is made out of much tougher and more durable materials than normal brollies hence it is more useful to the long stay angler.
The manufacturers rate the Viper as a 1.5 man, i.e. bigger than a one-man but smaller than a two man. To my knowledge the Viper is the only bivvy of this size, which makes it unique, a great selling point. Staying on the ...

Snowbee XS Weight Forward 7 Floating Line
Advantages: Slick, shoots VERY easily, presentation, durability Disadvantages: Discolours
...I bought my first Snowbee line 5 years ago just as they started hitting the market. I had used many brands of lines up until then - Cortland, Lureflash, Airflo and was currently using a Shakespeare Worcestershire, and then I bought this 'new' line from a company who, at the time, mainly made waders
The lines were simply called Snowbee Prestige lines then. At the time, the Prestige line felt good. Easy to cast, shot through the rings well and was ... ...served me well for 4 seasons before it was time to change. Of course, in this time the Prestige had become the XS and cost a little, but not a lot, more. Could it live up to the Prestige line I had grown fond of over the last 4 season?
I had no need to worry!!!!!!!
The XS is simply superb!!!! This is without a doubt the best floating line I have ever used. With this line I have added an extra 5-6 yards onto my cast with no extra effort.
The line ...
