...i have been using the STS13PM for all my beach fishing. It is capable of casting 6oz and mackeral flapper with ease. The STS13PM is rated at 4-8oz and is ideal for areas with a strong tide. The bite detection is also very good, on the STS13PM it has a stiffer tip which allows more sensitive bite detection in flood tides. The best rod out there. In my opinion anyway, there are way to many rods designed for punching leads to the horizon that are like a broom when playing a fish and often results in hook pulls. Not good when getting takes in the first place is hard enough. But this rod is really perfection, the tip is soft enough so you can enjoy the fight and not pull the hooks, but in the butt section is plenty of power in reserve so when needed you know its there. ...
