A Wheelie bad idea!!!!!! Golds Gym Exercise wheel
Advantages: None Disadvantages: You could quite easily end up in traction!!!!! Awful, disasterous etc etc
Now this piece of kit is right up there with the most pointless, cheap, nasty and in my opinion dangerous pieces of equipment on the market. I almost laughed out loud when I first came across this and perhaps offers proof that some people will buy THE most pointless pieces of equipment known to man in the pursuit of physical perfection. My first thought was not that it was a piece of exercise equipment but rather a toy emulating the “Wheelies” from ... ...IT?
You can’t really dress this piece of equipment up, it’s a plastic rod which has been put through a wheel. That’s it. You hold each side of the wheel and roll backwards and forwards and this action apparently works out the abdominal muscles. Essentially you become a wheelbarrow. Apologies for the crude analogy but that really is all there is too it. Gold’s gym however are much better at pitching this product. Here’s what they have to say about ...

Twisting my ball(s) strengthens my wrist
Advantages: Fantastic wrist exercise, looks good Disadvantages: Some people may not master the technique
...takes a look at the Powerball 350 Hz Metal Pro, but first explains the whole concept of 'Powerballing', and the reasons for its popularity. What is a Powerball? The Powerball is quite simply a tennis ball sized training aid which is designed to give the muscles in the wrist and lower arm a thorough workout. To use the device, you first need to 'start it up' by; . a) inserting the thin red cord (provided) into the notch in the inner rotating section ... ...Instead of an engine, the Powerball has an internal gyroscope which is activated by holding the product in your hand and smoothly rotating your wrist. As the powerball increases in velocity it gets harder to hold, and as the speed builds and builds you can feel the muscles in your arms starting to ache. The technique takes a bit of practice to get used to, but once you've mastered it, the whole process is generally an addictive one. . The good thing ...

Fantastic Product for the Price
Advantages: Decent battery life, Stylish, Very easy to use, Accurate with calibration, Decent Software Disadvantages: No GPS,, No HRM, Replace Sensor every 1000 hours, Nike trying to force their own products
...Nike's 2nd version of the Nike+ SportBand a try and see how well it holds up. Firstly I would like to re-iterate that this is the 2nd generation of Nike+ Sportband's after the disastrous release of the first version earlier last year. V1 was recalled after a strew of complaints when the device was not sealed in manufacturing; which means sweat or water ultimately broke many of the old devices. There were also complaints about the black-background ... ...Also supplied is a Nike+ Footpod, which is to be inserted under the sole of a Nike+ shoe. This is quite a drawback, for if you wish to use the sensor in any other brand of trainer you will need to purchase an additional lace-case. Also data may not be entirely accurate from this position. It provides 1000 hours of battery life while in use and have seen varying accounts of lasting from 4 months to 3 years. The battery itself cannot be replaced, so ...

Timex Ironman Triathlon Body Link
Advantages: Modular, low cost, excellent HR functionality Disadvantages: GPS unit can be bulky and if it loses signal you might not notice for a while!
The Timex Body Link system offers a GPS pod, a heart rate monitor and all the usual stop watch functionality.
This is an excellent tool for excercisers and athletes who like gadets and want to know exactly how far they have been, speeds and altitudes. I use it for runs and cycle rides. It is useful to have the additional memory unit to record large amounts of data. Compared to other GPS units on the market, it is very reasonable, and the modular ... ...unit with you if you don't want to.
Downsides: as with many GPS systems, in built up areas the GPS unit can lose signal; checking the llight on the unit can take a while to get used to as well. The sports watch and HR monitor is of impecable quality. The interval settings are very useful and it is very well thought out from a user point of view. ...

Tangle free skipping is easy with a Taurus Speed rope
Advantages: Tangle Free! wooden handles are easy to hold and not sweaty Disadvantages: none
...on UK forums, the name Taurus would pop up, so I searched on Amazon UK and there it was. Taurus Speed rope. I noticed it was also labelled as Henry Coopers training rope and Taurus ladies speed rope. Each one only differing by colour and so I chose the Henry cooper rope because that one was Blue, whilst the mens was red and the ladies pink. I cant imagine why the ladies ropes are almost always pink as I generally avoid that colour if there is a choice. ... ...Skipping in progress.. The Taurus rope makes a very smooth arc as it goes over your head. It is wide enough for the trick jumps that make skipping less monotonous. I have practiced with it a fair bit and can do the cross armed jump which involves your arms crossing after an ordinary jump and the arc of the rope still clearing your head and body. With the old rope, it was possible a few times but the taurus rope having a larger arc, makes it easier. ...
