I checked out this gym last week (ladies only gym situated on sauchiehall street glasgow.. just about Diechmann shoes shop and next to littlewoods) ... went in for a sneeky peek just to check it out and see what all the fuss is about...
My friends had been chatting about it at work and i also heard ladies in Sainsbury's chatting about it (I think they used the club themselves- pretty convenient for them work wise!!)
First impression on entering club - nice loud motivating music upon entering, nice friendly smiling staff upon enterance who very kindly asked if i had enough time to spare and someone would be able to help me with my enquiry... I only asked how much it was to join and yet i got a complimentary cup of coffee and a huge amount of information about the club from a very nice girl who made me feel right at ease.. (felt nervous about going in - but thought hey what the hell - got to do it one day).
They actually asked me what i wanted to achieve instead
of just showing me the equipment and telling me prices (woopee!! - finally a gym i feel that cares about me!!)
I want to lose two stone and it seems as tho this nice little fully equipped gym has all i need to get me to that goal i have been thinking about for quite a while..
After a fantasic tour (you can hire dvds free of charge - brill, I feel like as long as i continue the great personal programme my instructor will give me i don't have to feel guilty about sitting watching dvds at the weekend coz i had to go to the gym in the first place to get them... ;-)
Was not only impressed lounge area for members (complimentary juice, coffee and tea (including herbal variety), but the gym (bikes, rowers, treadmills, cross trainers, free weights area, and brilliant weight circuit plus loads more..) was not jammed packed thankfully - hate waiting for machines - doesn't seem to be an issue here(my tour was at 6pm)...
Have to say one thing that did jump out at me was the aerobics studio - made of glass and slap bang in center of the gym (this alone is worth going for a look - fab) Seen one of the classes think it was boxercise (looks really enjoyable and suitable for everyone - not one person hiding at the back - there is no back hee hee its glasssssssss - still no one was caring, which i think said alot about the nice friendly, no intimidation factor of this female only facility)
All classes are inclusive in membership - you don't even have to book you just need to turn up... there is a good variety and some belly dancing and salsa sounded brill...
I could go on and on about this facility, but to cut the story short.. lush lounge, great gym, astonishing aerobics studio, fantastic changing facilities coupled with stand tan sunbed, aromatherapy steam room, relaxation loungers, big spacious lockers ( you get your coin back - yeehaa!) and a weigh In day every wednesday (i think) Body composition analysing done as part of my progamme which tells me exactly how much bone, blood, muscle and water i have and the thing i really want to know... HOW FAT I AM... At least i know why i'm doing this now.. It's making it easier.. FINALLY!!
To summerise.. i was really impressed with the whole facility and so much so that when i got offered no joining fee (SAVED £125) on my first visit I jumped at the chance to take it - mainly coz my friend went in the week before and she didn't take advantage of her discount and it cost her more to join - hee hee!! I also loved my starter pack... full of wonderfull goodies - my backpack was full with my gym towel, water bottle, sunbed voucher and my mug and mouse mat so i don't forget about the gym when at work!!!
For what is involved in this club it's good value for money (membership ranges from £22.95 - £32.95 per month and there is no 12 month contract)
Main ascpect of this facility is that finally i understand why i need the equipment and qualified staff to help me achieve my weight lose... I can't do it myself i've been trying for years...
So when i reach my goal I will be letting all the girlies at fitness first for women know how greatful i am... But i will wait till i get the results.. If you do pop down to see the club and check it out i might see you there as i am now a fully fledged member and hope to see you all soon...
Oh and BTW... Cleanliness is fine... thanks to previouse reviews on this site i checked it.. think you must have just went in on a bad day. Been in tip top shape for the two weeks or so i have been there...
Staff are fab - come and say hello with about 15 mins to have a tour.. or phone them on 0141 332 6022 and ask to speak to Elaine or Meg (lovely girls who will be only to glad to help if you are interested in membership at this club...

Much like Nar you should maybe space out your paragraphs a bit more so that it is easier to read, i made this mistake to on my first reveiw which reminds me i must fix it still. I look forward to reading more from you and if you need any help then please feel free to ask........steve xx
