Fitness first is a waste of money I joined and it was awlful staff were unintrested the eq was broken and facilitys really bad I would not waste my money again You can however get free day passes to this gym by logging on to www.fitnessfirst.co.uk and try it for your self for nothing but don't spend your own dosh here.

Are Gyms really all they are cracked up to be well unless you have thousands of £££ and can afford a year round personal trainer and put lot's of time and effort into it then my answer would have to be NO.

After all the average Gym is going to cost you about £250 a year to be a member and £35 a month to go and most of us won't go more than twice a week if that so are the benefits of being able to say oh i have gym membership really worth it.

Sure you may make yourself feel slightly better about yourself just because you have a gym card and can claim to go all the time but i would suggest saving yourself a lot of money and work out the old fashioned way.

Running is ideal for the cardio part of a work out and if you find this to easy try hill running or cross country(park).

A set of Dumbells and bar will only set you back about £50 and these will last forever and a good exersize book will show you how to work on all parts of the body.

Cycling on a real bike especially if you have a park or such nearby is much better than sitting motionless in a gym full of sweaty beings all trying to compete to look the best.

And for all those who are shy about the state of their body if you work out at home you won't have to look at those muscley steroid popping blokes who grunt or those skinny matchstick women in next to nothing.
(i admit the guys probably won't mind the girl part and vice versa.

Generally i think it is much more economical to work out at home if you can.
The only real pounds you are gonna lose at the gym are the crispy ones in your wallet.
