As a member I can say that Fitness First gives you the framework for an excellent workout. The machines are good, with plenty to go around, and there are a vast number of classes from dance to yoga. The downside? Where do I start! The administration at Ilford has been apalling. They take out to much money from your direct debit or not enough, ocassionally not at all. They then have the audacity to write letter upon letter without checking their mistakes first. The staff are rude, and I sometimes wonder if with so much unemployment they couldnt have got better staff. A brain cell between two staff members isn't to much to ask for is it. The beautician is a dream though! This is my personal experience of Fitness First at Ilford, if I were able to use the facilities without dealing with the staff this place would be ab fab.
Advantages: Its cheap Disadvantages: sauna, changing rooms and shower are filthy.
...a member of the Romford fitness first. I recently parked in their members car park, and because I was seen going to boots (to buy shampoo) rather than walk straight into the gym, I was wheel clamped and forced to pay £200 removal fee. This has been done on the request of the Romford fitness first manager. This has also occurred to many other members. Any members or visitors should be aware of the treatment of members by this company.

...there is no category for fitness first romford so writing a review in the ilford category seems reasonable as ilford is only a efw miles from romford.

I was looking around for a few gyms, it was going to come down to fitness first or golds gym and fitness first won.
First off the staff at fitness first romford are superb and very freindly and smart and the gym is also very smart and it has an upstairs level that has some of ... ...gold membership which is £5 more which gives you everything said above, the only advantage is the time limit.
overall rating for fitness first romford id say would be about 9/10, so what you waiting for, go and get your free trial and see for yourself what your missing! ...
