When i first joined this gym i found it ok, decent size and a lot of equipment however now i have been a member for over a year, the small things that dont bother you that much at the start begin to stand out for the amount of money im paying such as:
1 - Paper towel holders to rub down sweat are always empty which then means you go on a treadmill after someone else has to realise its covered in their sweat.
2 - Bins are always overfilled, main reason for this is that ive only seen one cleaner in the whole gym.
3 - Sunbeds are really low powered for the money of a course.
4 - Equipment is always broke or torn EG bench presses ripped.
5 - Most weight machines never have the pin to hold weights so you cant use them unless you take one from elsewhere
6 - Air conditioning is extremely poor, even on a cold day the gym is like a sauna.
These problems have always been there but recently they started to annoy me as this is the least you would expect for a gym and for £30 a month.
This leads on to my final point, this fitness first give different people different membership prices for example they only give new offers to new members and dont give anything to existing members, all they offered me was £2 off if i resigned on a 12 month contract. Also they are sly with what each member pays for example i know people that are paying £28, £25, £22 and one person even £18 a month when all of they all have the same membership type. This sort of thing should not be allowed to go on which is why i have now cancelled.
There are alot better gyms out there for the price in which you will get better value for money.
Ive been to all the Fitness Firsts in Manchester but when I entered Moston my first impression was that I really liked the layout of this gym. The staff are friendly and very approachable and theres always somebody on hand to help.
The classes are also very good, I particular enjoy the spinning class.
It is also quite a big gym so even at busy times there is always a machine to use.
There is a big free weights area which as usual is full of men ...
