...For a man of my limited ability playing the game with a handicap of 24, Ping clubs would be a luxury but wasted money in my case.
I had never owned a rescue club or recovery club as these hybrids are more commonly known and my golf suffered whenever I found my ball in the semi rough or slightly off the fairway. No matter what club I used I could never get any distance out of the crap I was in.
I did eventually discuss the rescue clubs, as I prefer to call the hybrids, with fellows golfers at my club and found their advice very helpful. The majority agreed that buying the Ping, Taylor made, Callaway and other famous well used brands of the professional golfers would be a waste of money and to search for more reasonably priced hybrids.

Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance. Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).
...Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. These skates...

Advantages: Fantastic looks, great forgiveness, good distance Disadvantages: Not exactly traditional!
...I have recently (three months ago) purchased the 3 and 4 iron replacement clubs in the Wilson Staff Dh6 Distance Hybrid series. Having struggled with long irons for a long time I finally came around to giving the less conventional hybrid clubs ago after constantly hearing about how much easier to hit they are. Having had the club for a long enough time I can honestly say that all of the good things you hear about hybrid clubs are certainly true of this one! At first I wasn't sure whether or not I would like the clubs bizarre shape/design but in actual fact it is a lot better looking behind the ball, in the confidence it gives you, than the difficult to hit long irons that it is designed to replace. Although the club is a little radical, I can see the beautiful side of its design as a very well crafted club.
The design of the club...
