Founders Club Balata ED Golf Balls

Advantages: Extra distance with the driver. Excellent control and spin. Well priced high performance golf ball for the average golfer.
Disadvantages: Meaningless advertising.

For decades they were content to simply rake in the massive profits from the sale of Dunlop golf balls, and it's only in the last seven years or so that they have began to market golf balls and clubs using their own brand name of Srixon. They were actually the first golf ball manufacturer to pioneer the use of soft balata rubber in the manufacture of golf balls when they brought out the Dunlop Maxfli Balata HT ball, which until Titleist caught up a couple of years later was without question the ball of choice of all better golfers. I used the Maxfli Balata ball successfully for many years. ~ ~ There were two major problems with balata golf balls. Advantages: Good feel, Shiny, bounces well, good value for money
Disadvantages: Being a golf ball - none really...

...thing about this ball is just how bouncy it is. Drop it on a hard floor and it will make a "pak" sound and bounce about 70% percent of the way back up again. (Compared to the usual 40% I get from my other scavenged golf balls) Not only that, when spun of the average computer desk it wizzes round for ages. (approx. 12 seconds) A not-so-vigorous robustness test revealed some impressive results. After hitting it with hard and not-so-hard objects I concluded that it was either pretty tough, or led a charmed life. Indeed, it damaged the objects I was hitting it with rather more that the object in question. Pretty good overall. ...Ok, This review is simply to put you straight. This website claims that Cobra Golf make a golf ball. I can tell you that Cobra do no such thing. Cobra are an excellent golf manufacturer, they make clubs, bags, gloves, towels etc. however the investment in technology and research required for them to create there own golf ball has put them off the idea. Cobra has a reputation for making high quality accessories and high power clubs. Cobra's pride and joy is it's range of drivers. The best and most expensive of which is the King Cobra 440sz. I haven't used this on the course but have had the fortune of trying this weapon on the range. I can tell you, it's a pleasure. Trying a new club is always exciting but this was quite an experience.
