Advantages: Challenging but accessible course for mid handicappers Disadvantages: Not hard enough for better players and not the best course in the area
...Chelsfield Lakes Golf Club
'A good walk spoiled' is how one man once described golf but he was obviously a fool as there are few better ways to pass the time than by playing this most majestic of sports. In my part of the world we are spoilt for choice when it comes to courses and there are ones to suit all standards and pockets.
Chelsfield Lakes is a pleasant pay and play course that will satisfy most golfers from beginners to good players. Very low handicappers may not find it enough of a challenge but for us mere mortals it has more than enough to keep us interested without ruining our confidence.
The lakes of the title is bit misleading as there are only two on the course. One is far to the left of the 16th and doesn't come into play but the other is large and runs between the 9th and 18th fairways and most definitely comes...

Advantages: 130 aerobics classes, big air conditioned gym, good personal programme system, free towels, use of other esportas Disadvantages: 12 month membership
...I joined this gym 8 years ago and its been worth every penny.
I love the timetable it has loads of different kinds of classes, I especially like Boxercise & Salsa. Very big fitness arena with brand new equipment and loads of weights. I'm not really into the pool but Ilike to relax in thesauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
The staff are very friendly and there are free clubs and social activities to take part in, if your not too busy.
When your a member of swiss cottage you can use any of the other Esportas for free and there loads of them.
I have made alot of good friends through this gym and have become a total gym lover. I have an excellent personal trainer who has helped me lose 2 stone and get the body I've always wanted.

Advantages: Opens early, closes late. Lots of facilities and services Disadvantages: Too many noisy children, expensive
...Esporta Croydon, also known as The Surrey Health and Rackets club, is part of a huge UK chain, owned by venture capitalist Simon Halabi. It was primarily a rackets club and has been responsible for helping train some of the up and coming Tennis stars of tomorrow.
Esporta is situated in a purpose built warehouse on a large industrial estate not far from Waddon mainline station and houses a spacious gymnasium, also known as the "Fitness Arena", a large family pool and an even larger olympic sized pool. There are numerous Tennis courts and several Squash courts. It is a club which encourages families, so may not suit those in search of halcyon days.
Having parked in the spacious car park you will come through the double doors into the reception area, where you will be greeted by the welcoming reception staff, who will actually greet...
