Advantages: lightweight, plenty of space great looking Disadvantages: Beware of overpricing, and check the strap anchor
absolute gem. i stumbled across this bag in my local golf store and to my amazement i bought it for £25.00 the guy told me he had put some good offers on some nike bags due to a fault anyway he showed me the bag and i couldnt believe the fault was a tiny stitching flaw on the strap anchor point which has caused no problem whatsoever. When i asked how much i expected a price of £60+ once he told me I bought both that he had.
Anyway on to the bag it really is gr8 with loads of storage space for all the bits and bats us golfers carry around it has an handy cooler compartment and the 14 way dividers really reduce club clatter not to mention the bag looks fantastic. i would recommend to anyone although do shop around as some of the prices are a bit optimistic and beware of the stitching fault as this is a common flaw, but i have proof ...
Advantages: Guaranteed great night out Disadvantages: Need to get in early for a good seat; questionable food, early finish!
. The layout of the club is slightly unusual so if you miss out on these seats, there are rows of chairs to one side of the stage and after that it's standing room only at the bar! There are obvious advantages to being so close to the bar but it's a long time to stand (the show finishes at about 11) and the place can get really busy so you'll get mobbed at the intervals.
Anyway, having found a good seat you still need to watch out if there is anything even slightly unusual about you and/or a member of your party and you're in view of the stage! For example, I visited the Stand one night with a tall friend who stuck out quite a lot in the crowd (although, apart from his height, doesn't look particularly "unusual"!). Anyway, having asked his name, the comedian started a game called "Gordon's a*se" - you play it by substituting the words "Gordon ...
Advantages: You can see up to four comedians for £7/8 at the weekend Disadvantages: You have to go really early to get a seat.
The Stand is a fairly easy place to find, located just five minutes from Princess Street on York Place. However you could be forgiven for walking straight past it as to get to the entrance you have to walk down a flight of stairs from the main street.
The stand is a small lively comedy club and hosts nights with new up and coming comedians and more well known Scottish and International comedians. The more well known comedians tend to appear at the weekends. It can cost anything between £1/£5 during the week to get in, and between £7/9 at the weekend. The bar is reasonably priced for town prices and I've always found the bar staff to be very friendly. Hot food is also served till 9pm, but it is quite a selected menu.
One down fall is the size of the club, its extremely small and there is never enough seats for the amount ...
