Advantages: very strong yet light with good feel Disadvantages: Can be a handful in tight swims
...I always considered 3lb TC carprods to be too heavy duty for 'normal' carp fishing situations. Sure they could bang out a large method feeder 90 odd yards but surely the feeling would be lost when playing the fish?
I originally stumbled across a pair of the Fox Extreme rods whilst looking for a pair of rods for an up and coming trip to France. I went to a local dealer to ask for something heavy duty that wasn't a fortune. The intention was to use these rods purely for my trips abroad and nothing else.
I was showed the Extremes and was instantly amazed at how slim and light they were. They also felt very well balanced. In addition they were a nice matt grey finish and looked quite stylish - I thought how good they would look on my pod.
The dealer offered me the pair for £150 since he had vast numbers that were not shifting...

Advantages: Cheap and very effective Disadvantages: none
...I have been searching for a cheap carprod for a while now and thought for what money I had I would not be able to get a rod with a quality name on it like such as fox. Having brought fox products before I have never been disappointed by the quality so when I realised fox where producing such a cheap rod I felt I had to try it. To be honest it was so inexpensive that I doubted it at first when I definitely shouldn't of but now I have it I have caught many carp on it the biggest being 36lb. It handles all fish exceptionally well as absorbs most of the pressure so you don't have to. Casting wise again the rod is superb and can reach long distances without much force being applied. I believe that this rod is ideal for anybody especially if you are new to carp fishing due to the price of only £50 brand new....

Advantages: Cheap, do the job Disadvantages: Not the best but what do you expect
...This rod is what i would class as a budget rod, they money you pay for it, around the £20 mark, you are not expecting anything amazing. But really for the money you cant complain. It has enough back bone to cast leads and feeders, and also its soft enough to be able to play a fish on unlike some of the broom sticks that you can buy with products of a simalar price range.
There are a few faults, like really chunky rod rings and linings, the blank is not really very thin, actually quite chunky. But once again what do you expect for a rod at this price.
If you are after a rod that will serve you when you have very little money, these are worth a look....
