...I will never ski on any other ski than these. I love them to pieces.
In the 1999/2000 season, Salomon intrigued the ski market by introducing the first twin-tip ski for the consumer. A twin-tip ski is one that is raised at both the tip and the tail, allowing the skier to ski backwards as well as forwards. These skis heralded a revolution in the ski industry, which other ski manufacturers have joined.
Despite the influx of twin-tip skis in the 2000/2001 season, the Salomon 1080s are seen by many people as being the only ski of choice.
As an amateur freeride skier, I can't get enough of them. The 1080 has given me a new lease of life over the whole mountain. When jumping, I now have the option of landing or taking off backwards, without fear of having the tails of my skis jam into the snow and me ending up in a heap.
The skis have...

...that planned to fall off their bikes and, not being inclined to do that sort of thing, I'd not bothered investing in one.
So it was that, slightly less proud of my various bike-crash related cuts and bruises than I was when I was only 7 years old, I relented and bought my first cycle helmet. Way back in 2001, I forked out the princely sum of £45 for a shiny black metallic Ippogrifo cycle helmet from the Italian manufacturer MET.

Advantages: safer, less hassle, easy to use Disadvantages: More expensive then normal tubes
...I have kitted my bikes out with these, for years I have hated getting punctures and now there is a solution.
I bought mine for £4.99 online from chain reaction cycles, free delivery so a good place for bike goods.
How it works
Basically within the rubber tube there is some fresh air reactive slim, that when punctured the slime oozes out of the whole and reacts to the fresh air.
This then hardens the slime and you don't have to drag of your wheel and doctor the hole in your tube, it save a lot of hassle.
There are two main types dr sludge, which I prefer and slime, they both do the same job in the same way but I find dr sludge better.
The future
Basically I'm not sure how long they live but they do work well, saving the purchase of new tubes and repair kits, its worth a punt at £4.99 to see if they work for you.
Unless something...
