I first had a chance ... ...in the camera shop I worked in.
The Camera not to large in size but still maintaining good quality and a big screen seemed like it was destined to be a big seller, especially as the camera had Fuji’s Super CCD technology in it, meaning a 3.1 million pixel camera could in fact take a 6 million pixel picture.
Now I like Fuji I believe they make SOME good camera’s there is a few which aren’t so good, but all companies have their few mistakes! This ...

Advantages: Ease of use, Great picture quality,V Good for someone with little or no experience. Disadvantages: The16mb XD chip that mine came with is too small, take into account that you will need a bigger memory when buying, but that is easily sorted.
An excellent camera,so easy to use my four year old son often takes photos with mine! The quality of photo is superb, I generally use the 3 mega pixel quality and have found no need to use the higher 6 mega pixel setting(yes it does go to 6 million pixels but it makes photos too big to email comfortably) I borrowed one to use for videoing and took quite a lot of photos I was so impressed I went out and bought one.I now have a one gig micro drive ... ...3 mega pixel setting, and found it more than big enough for a week away.
If using video the 1gig drive will hold around 1 hour on the lowest setting or just over 15 minutes on the highest, but this can be put on a disk in most photo shops whilst away clearing your camera to start again.
I would reccomend buying a bigger memory than is supplied as the 16 mb card will only hold app 26 photos, but the price of memory is dropping all the time.
Overal ...

Advantages: Supports multiple media types, large display, fairly compact Disadvantages: 3MP now days is the reference quality for a digital camera
I used my M603 as my primary digital camera for almost a year. I still have it but my dad uses it mostly now. It's an excellent camera, with stylish design, a huge 2.5" screen, and above all, if you can't afford the expensive XD memory, you can use Compact Flash/Microdrive instead.
The effective 3 megapixels, make a great job, giving high image quality results. The 6 megapixels quality option provided, uses interpolation to result a 2832 x 2128 ...

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, good bundle of accessories, fantastic value for money Disadvantages: Very slight camera shake on pressing shutter, but this dissapears with practice.
I bought my Fuji M603 at the beginning of the year when it was still relatively expensive (£350). Since then I've used it all over the place and have not been dissappointed with it at all.
The picture quality is superb, and you can zoom in miles using a photo editor on you PC with no loss of quality. I have used several other cameras which my freinds have bought since, but none of them have been a patch on the M603, despite being even more expensive. ... ...to compose the shot easily and to review it without squinting!
If I were to get another camera now it would be another M603. There are only a few places left to get one, though, and I have seen them online for less than £180! Beleive me, that is a bargain!
So if you want a very good camera with all the extras (TV out, cradle, recharger, case, and it works as a very good digital video camera) then rush out and get this one. ...

Advantages: Picture Quality Disadvantages: its BIG.
...The Fujifilm finepix m603 6 mega pixels is one complete package for a guy whos new to the field of photography.
I even did my university's photography assignments on it..
It had an 8MB card included... with the lowest quality set on the cam i can take about 45 pics on it and after i use my 1 GB card the number of pictures greatly increases.
Along with the excellent picture quality, it offers its users to store video in frame rate of 30fps with high quality sound ...
Like most digicams it can be used as a web cam with the USB cam mode through its USB cable. The only problem i faced was to make it stand so i made use of a pouch with a soft board duster inside it to provide it with a soft ground.
The data can be easily transfered into your computer through the USB cable.
For outdoors the camera comes equipped...

Advantages: Smooth movies, excellent picture quality, easy to use, any length movies with sound Disadvantages: Fixed zoom for movie recording
...I have owned the FujiM603 camera for about four years. This is my first digital camera I have owned and is my only one that I still use. I love it, even though I am sometimes tempted to trade it in for those new fangled multi-purpose cameras that are flaunted around these days. On closer inspection, I find that am able to resist them mainly because none of them has come close on comparison to my beloved M603.
Features:
Picture quality is excellent - clear, crisp and bright.
Movie mode is smooth and focused.
Easy to use - even my 5 year old son can use it.
Robust - it has been roughly handled, dropped and knocked about by my children that I'm surprised it still works!
It can take any length movies up to the size of the memory card capacity. I use a 1 gigabyte CF card and a small XD card inside the camera. The photos...

Advantages: Clear screen and picture, simple interface Disadvantages: No viewfinder
...as excelling in picture quality with perfect colour tones and a very intelligent white balance, the M603 is a very competent video camera offering a frame rate of 30fps in a high quality with audio. My 512mb microdrive fits just over 6 minutes wort of video on it which is great for quick shots which can be used to rip frames from on the cameras huge screen. Just as well really as it has no optical viewfinder. Some people complain about this vastly reducing battery life but this coupled with the power intensive microdrive and the standard NP-60 battery last for a good hour longer than some similar models such as the F601 and it can be upgraded with the high powered NP-120.
The screen is fantastic with great clarity even in direct sunlight (sunshade also provided) and buttons such as macro and flash setting are easy to get to for quick changes...

Manufacturer's product description
Key to both the remarkable image quality of the FinePix M603 Zoom, and its superb movie recording abilities, is the 3rd Generation Super CCD sensor. The latest version of this innovative chip improves upon the class-leading color reproduction, high sensitivity and low noise of the previous sensor. The movie mode in the FinePix M603 Zoom records VGA (640 x 480 pixel) quality images at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, with sound. When played back on a conventional TV, this delivers full screen, flicker-free movies. Up to 15 minutes of video can be recorded using a 1Gb Microdrive, or 30 minutes at the lower 15 frames per second rate. A high-capacity battery pack (NP-120) is available as an option, to facilitate extended movie recording. The FinePix M603 Zoom offers a range of playback and review functions for recorded digital movies. Repeat Play mode allows the user to repeatedly playback a selected piece of a movie clip. Fast Search helps the user to find that elusive clip by replaying at between 2x and 60x normal playback speed. Furthermore, Easy Edit makes it simple to delete unwanted scenes and insert new material. In addition to its movie credentials, the FinePix M603 Zoom is an exceptional digital stills camera offering easy to use, fully automatic point-and-shoot operation, with additional manual overrides to cope with difficult lighting conditions. The advanced metering, focus and white balance systems ensure that users can be sure of getting perfectly exposed, richly detailed, noise-free photographs boasting accurate colors and delicate skin tones at all times.
Reliable. X-High quality results; especially noticable when using digital zoom as virtually no loss of sharpness. Large LCD screen.
