GT Chucker
Review of GT Chucker 2.0 by  greasycookingpot

Advantages: Looks Good, Smooth Gears, Hardcore, Not Too Light Or Too Heavy, Comfy Ride, Good Grip
Disadvantages: Brakes Should Be Hydraulics, Forks Should Have Slightly More Travel

...The Chucker is now available online at around £320 in the black colour or £350 for the blue (which looks better in real life than it does in the pictures). The Chucker handles jumps really well and, although the bash ring [the front part where the gear change happens- normally has about 3 cogs in it] is not best for speed & long distance road riding (I managed 40 miles in a day) but keeps the chain on during jumps. All the SRAM parts [all the parts to do with gears - changers, derraillier...] are capable of a lot of thrashing about and have a really smooth change. The rear derraillier [the mechanism that moves the chain from one gear to another] even stayed together with my friend jumping on it. It is perfect for stunts as the front & forks are not too light (as in the Diamondback Groove) so you do not fall backwards during jumps... Read review

Smooth as silk
Review of GT XCR 3000 I Drive by  cabletow

Advantages: tough yet smooth
Disadvantages: a horrible yellow

...The best in sprung mtbs, The I drive is so smooth and the bike is so silky that this bike is a pleasure to ride anywhere. The research I did into this bike before buying it warned of problems with mud in the I drive system, my friends told me this was a bike designed for california and not Suffolk. I bought it any way. I have covered 3000 miles trough Suffolk mud and on roads. It has never let me down and is quite the smoothest bike I have ever ridden. Tough yes. Durable seems to be so far. A great all rounder both uphill and down. It is downhill that this bike really shines it has control and the judy shocks really do keep the front in line but through it all the I drive really keeps the drive on the ground and it really is a competitive machine. Well worth a try and well worth the money.... Read review

Smooth
Review of GT XCR 4000 I Drive by  cabletow

Advantages: smooth and tough
Disadvantages: £600

...The xcr 4000 I drive is the smoothest fully suspended MTB I have ever had the good fortune to ride. It is the I drive system that gives this bike a long travel suspension ride that moves well and is clever enough not to sap any of your forward energy as you ride. I have used this bike on road and off road in both the dry and wet and the I drive has never let me down. The price you pay includes shimano deore chainset and shift. judy front shocks and vanilla fox rear. The package is strong yet light and is therefore excellent value. The balance of the bike is spot on. It is the comfort of the bike that will sell it to most. If you only have £600 to spend on a mountain Bike then this is the best value you will find....
