Down Hilling and Jumps
Review of Giant ATX 1100 by dude_mad469

Advantages: great for serious riders, and intense courses.
Disadvantages: Not easey to mend.

...My Giant bike has proved me an invaluable source of enjoyment, and fun. For me it has biven me an oppourtunity to explore greater and larger jumps which i would have not been able to do previously. The Giant ATX series is a reliable and relatively cheap (for a top quality bike), it conbines great suspension with lightweit and strong frames. Th bike can not only be used fo downhilling on intence courses but is also a wonderfull relaxing bike. I have often just ridden it on a weekend ride of the South Downs and found it extreamly comfortable. The only bad aspect that i could think of was that if you break or damage a part then it costs more to repare it than buy a new part.... Read review

Value mounatin bike
Review of Giant Cross Country ATX 840 by robinson1010

Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: soft rims

...The 99 Giant ATX 840 is a pretty good bike for the money. It comes with a Alivio/ STX-RC component mix, and a Rockshox Jett T2 elastomer fork, which I have upgraded to Marzocchi Bomber Z5 fork, which performs well, despite the slow rebound. I have noticed no problems except for the rear rim I bent hitting a curb at high speed. This bike has a stiff, light, 6061-T6 alloy frame. I have found that upgrading to a riser bar makes riding this bike noticibly more comfortable. Overall, this is a good bike for someone who is entering the world of mountain biking.... Read review
