Callaway Big Bertha Red Balls

Advantages: Seem to go miles!
Disadvantages: None

...My partner introduced me to Callaway (he is obsessed by the game and only Callaway stuff will do for him!!) As a lady golfer I have tried many of the golf balls designed specifically for lasies, and although I found these to be good, my partner eventually persuaded me to try Callaway. As some Callaway products can be pricey, I decided to go for the Big Bertha Balls (Red for distance) which seem to be a little more reasonable than some of the other ...

Callaway HX TOUR Black

Advantages: these babies fly!!!!!!!
Disadvantages: price!!

...won a dozen off these Callaway HX Tour black balls in a competition and am in love !! I have always played with Titleist Pro V1's in the past and didn't think anything would be able to beat them. These Callaways balls go an absolute mile when spanked off the tee with your driver. I would say slightly further than the pro v1. They also have excellent spin control when struck with your short irons into the greens. I have never had so much backspin ...
...putt with as well , a real soft feel coming off the putter face. The only real draw back with these is the price. I believe they are currently retailing for around £36 a dozen but i believe them to be worth it , especially in the summer. I have found them to have knocked around 2-3 shots off of my game per round , i play off a 12 handicap currenty. ...

What is rule 35

Advantages: Incredible feel
Disadvantages: Price

Callaway have waited a long time before entering into the golf ball market. I welcome them with open arms. After many years playing the titleist hps wound ball I decided to give the callaway a go. The price wasn't too frightening although it seems worse due to them only being sold in sleeves of five or more rather than the usual three. As soon as I had one in my hand I knew this ball was different. It almost feels sticky to the touch. The feel of ...
...was really pleasing. But the callaway really comes into it's own around the green. It's soft feel really is unlike any other ball I have ever tried. You learn to trust it very very quickly. Putting with it is an absolute pleasure. As for rule 35? There isn't one. Very clever. Are callaway suggesting that this ball is just outside the rules? They should be! ...

SOFT FEEL IS WHAT IT SAYS AND THEY ARE

Advantages: mid price range, last without scuffing
Disadvantages: Frowned upon by golfers who think paying the most gets the best

...with a sleeve of these Srixon balls. Mine lasted all week and they performed well, i usually play with a more expensive ball but these done the job, great for feel around the greens and helped my slice from the tee due to there low spin rate. A number of my playing partners play with the more expensive balls and for a while refused to try them but evenually did so and where surprised at their findings. One of my good points in golf is my putting ...

Pro V1x : The better players ball....

Advantages: Best combination of spin, distance and feel.
Disadvantages: Price, softer shell may may weather sooner than harder golf balls.

I personally would highly reccomend the ball to better standard of golfers who enjoy the playability arond the greens, yet still require extra distance off the the tee combined with the softer feel in comparison to other distance balls. The ball is also renowned for its 'drop and stop' controll. However, to any average to lower standard player, I would advise to play a cheaper, harder ball with more durability as shot making isn't to much of an issue ...
