Tight Lie? Hand Me My Adams!
Review of Adams Tight Lies 3 Wood by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Hits the ball a long way with a high degree of accuracy
Disadvantages: Quite expensive (But not the dearest on the market!)
...never left me, and the Adams woods are still an integral part of my golf bag. They’ve been re-gripped innumerable times and re-shafted twice, but the only time I’ll ever part with them is when they finally decide to fall asunder in my hands!
Strangely enough, while I felt this way about the clubs I’m writing about here (the 3-wood and the 5-wood) I never got to grips with the driver, which has long been banished to a dark corner of the hall cupboard!
... ...dominant in the woods market, Adams Tight Lies still managed to top the fairway woods sales charts in the USA for three consecutive years from 1999 to 2001.
~ ~ The technology of the clubs is sound. They have the maximum legal “COR factor”, which is the amount of bounce you get when the club head makes contact with the golf ball. (Don’t ask me how they manage to measure it, but they do!) The face of the club is made from ultra-thin titanium, and ...

The Vokey spin milled spins miles
Review of Titleist Vokey Oil Can Wedge by
alibatch111
Advantages: Looks goos, Feels great and spins loads
Disadvantages: None
Th Titleist Vokey Spin Milled is one of the best wedges on the market. The original design by Bob Vokey has not been changed much for years.
The wedge comes in a full range of lofts from 64" - 48" with all types of bounce on it. The wedge is cut using a CAD maching and has about 30% more groove area than conventional wedges so there is more space for the ball to deform in to. The edges of the grooves are more defined and 'sharper' so the friction ... ...I personally have a 58" and I love it. It is an oil can which i think looks better although it has been proven that rust has no noticable affect on the spin rate of the ball. With the oil can it must be cleaned well after use as the dirt and moitsure will make it rust loads. It spins so much as long as the grooves are clean and i use it for everything, pitching chipping from anywhere and bunker play. It has a reasonably heavy head which i think is ...

Spin it to win it!
Review of Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedges by
jezzard1
Advantages: So much short game control, spin is now easy
Disadvantages: Quickly scuffs your golf balls, avoid full shots!
Wow! That is what all golfers are saying when they hit one of these for the first time! Titlesit's latest wedge has a milled face to give extra spin control around the greens. These wedges are available in 54, 56,58 and 60 degrees and can also come in an oil can finish.
Ever wondered how the pros on tv get the ball to spin back on a 50 yars pitch, or how the get just the smallest of chips to stop on its second bounce, the answer is they are using ... ...sold for around £85. Spend around £200 and buy two of these wedges and your short game will improve over night, saving you at least 5 shots around. I own a 54, 58 and a 60 giving me the choice of what I want to do a different courses with different grasses and terrians. ...

The best driver i have ever owned
Review of Titleist Pro Titanium 905S 9.5 by
jezzard1
Advantages: Lower ball flight and increased workablilty
Disadvantages: None
This golf club is designed for golfers who hit the ball to high, because they impart too much backspin onto a golf ball.
The 905s has a deep face to reduce spin rates therefore hitting the ball on a lower ball flight, increasing distance.
The head is also slightly smaller so is much easier on the eye than some of these brand irons we see today.
I use a 905s fitted with a grafalloy blue stiff shaft and it is now my favourite club in the ball. I ... ...find the fairway. The ball goes a long way off the tee too, because of the lowered ball flight my golf ball is leaving the face at the optimum launch angle (45 degrees) and the because of the low spin rate hits the floor and gains another 20-30 yards in roll!
The best driver I have ever owned! ...

A truly great golf club
Review of Mizuno MX F-50 by
coppinpr
Advantages: Easy to use,fantastic distance
Disadvantages: Not for the beginer, Poor grip
...is something special, Like all Mizuno clubs its very well made and comes with a top quality zip up head cover. The shaft is wider than I'm used to and straight rather than stepped. The shaft also has a lot of flex making me wonder if its perhaps not for the rank beginer. The head is, as you would expect from a fairway wood, quite small (7 wood) but has a good wieght and a great feel on the swing.
After two years of using Taylor Made oversize burners ... ...price £100+
Bottom line, Mizuno make great golf clubs and this one lives up to the good name its got in golfing circles, I can only hit 265 yards with my Cobra driver on a good day! Makes me wonder if i should look at other Mizuno clubs ...
