A set to suit everyone's game.....
Review of Mizuno MX-17 Iron by
troggers4
Advantages: Perfect for mid-to-high handicappers
Disadvantages: Looks
...I purchased a set of Mizuno MX-17 (steel) irons in April 2005 for £349, replacing my ageing Progen's that had never really done me justice. At first I thought that the Mizunos were slightly expensive, however after my first practice I could see why Mizuno had such a good reputation as iron-makers and so believed that the price was adequate. There was also the possibility of alternatively buying graphite shafts for £469 but I have always thought steel ... ...The long irons (3-6) feature a huge cavity pocket and low centre of gravity which provides a solid contact all over the club head, so making them extremely forgiving on mishits. With my Progens the long irons were always very hard to hit and there was never room for misjudegement. But with the Mizuno's, if you are slightly off the sweet spot the ball still goes straight. The short irons (7-PW) are of a more solid construction with weight higher up ...

Mizuno MX-23 Great improvment irons
Review of Mizuno MX 23 by
Cheesychip1
Advantages: Great for impovment, good forgiving face.
Disadvantages: Hevier than graphite shafted clubs.
Mizuno MX-23 irons. Steel shafted (like all the pros use now) and a great impovement club.
I got a set of these for christmas, I had a handicap of 28. Now after using these clubs for less than half a year my handicap has dramaticly changed by 10 i now play off 18.
At first they took a big of getting used to compared to my old irons but soon the face hardened up and they went super! In winter weather they hold there own against cold and wet. As ... ...because they are quite forgiving and have a large sweet spot on the face. The first thing i noticed when I bought them was the grips. Very nice grips that make it easy to line up the ball to the club face. Another great thing obout these clubs is that they were a real bargin. I got mine from my pro shop brand new, im glad i did. ...

Mizuno MP-001 Fairway woods
Review of Mizuno MP-001 Fairway by
meaty1234
Advantages: Low price, powerful and nice design
Disadvantages: Not suitable for high handicaps due to small head size
The Mizuno MP-001 series of fairway woods are available in a wide range of lofts, with a variety of shaft flexes. Due to being released a few years ago, they are now extremely good value and can be picked up for around £50/£70 (steel/graphite) new and prices are coming down all the time. They are very good looking with a sleek design and look good over the ball. With a simple arrow alignment aid and a compact head these are better suited for the ... ...are very forgiving compared to other low-handicapper woods and hit the ball a long way. In my opinion they are just as good as any other club out and are un-matched for value. For any decent golfer these are a good adition to the golf bag, and the 7-wood in particular is a lovely golf club. If you like to shape the ball it is also easy with these woods and the flight is easy to manipulate. ...

Good Club - But Doesn't Live Up To Its Reputation
Review of Mizuno MX - 500 by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Hits the golf ball a long way.
Disadvantages: You're never sure what direction it will hit the ball
...a possible replacement was the Mizuno MX 500.
Why did I buy it? Who really knows why a golf addict actually buys *ANY* piece of equipment. I was in the professional's shop at my home golf club one day simply browsing around when I spotted it on the shelf. Mizuno have a good reputation in the golf world, and I'd heard great things about this driver from fellow golfers. So a couple of swishes later, and a wee bit of sales spiel from the pro, and out ... ...of the club.
The Mizuno MX 500 has a *BIG * club head. 460cc capacity to be exact, although that won't mean much to any non-golfers reading this review. Suffice to say that it's *BIG*. In fact it's so big that you might be forgiven for thinking you were swinging a brick stuck onto the end of a shaft. Of course, it isn't as heavy as a brick because those clever whiz kids at Mizuno use a titanium alloy, which gives the club head strength and durability, ...

Mizuno MP-33 Irons
Review of Mizuno MP-33 Iron by
matt_only_me
Advantages: Beautiful to look at and a great feel when struck well
Disadvantages: Aimed for the low handicapped and not very forgiving
...thought was to go for Mizuno because I have always played with Mizuno irons. You know that when you buy any set of Mizuno irons, they will look lovely at address and feel great when struck. I found that this was true with the MP-33s when i tried then out. The only problem with these irons is that they are not very forgiving. I would recemend them for a good consistant player, off a handicap of 5 or better. I tested all the Mizuno irons on display ...
