The Vokey spin milled spins miles
Advantages: Looks goos, Feels great and spins loads Disadvantages: None
Th Titleist Vokey Spin Milled is one of the best wedges on the market. The original design by Bob Vokey has not been changed much for years.
The wedge comes in a full range of lofts from 64" - 48" with all types of bounce on it. The wedge is cut using a CAD maching and has about 30% more groove area than conventional wedges so there is more space for the ball to deform in to. The edges of the grooves are more defined and 'sharper' so the friction ... ...I personally have a 58" and I love it. It is an oil can which i think looks better although it has been proven that rust has no noticable affect on the spin rate of the ball. With the oil can it must be cleaned well after use as the dirt and moitsure will make it rust loads. It spins so much as long as the grooves are clean and i use it for everything, pitching chipping from anywhere and bunker play. It has a reasonably heavy head which i think is ...

Titleist DCI 962's
Advantages: Nice feel, good ball flight Disadvantages: not for the high handicapper
...owner of a set of Titleist 962s for about a year and a half and have to say that I am nothing but impressed by them. Being a 9 handicapper at the time I was after a set of clubs that would allow me to hit a variety of shots but also was not keen on having to use blades to achieve this. The 962s are definately worth spending £500 on if you are serious about spending this sort of money. They have a very nice look and look good behind the ball - they ... ...not as small as a blade so you do not worry about mishitting it! The produce a quite a low ball flight and are very easy to move both left to right and right to left. In conclusion I would say that these clubs are perfect for someone who is a low handicapper who is not looking for blades. Very highly recommended indeed. ...

Only the best will do.
Advantages: Looks great behind the ball, great spin rates. Disadvantages: ???
I bought two wedges from another manufacturer to match my irons, but HAD to go back to my 60 degree Vokey, because there was no feel to the others. My confidence on those high, floaty pitch/lob shots came flooding back when Vokey came home!! I was thinning those 50-70 yard shots into (and over the back of...) the green with my new 60 degree wedge, but Vokey put me back on the green. I can control the spin I get with the Vokey like no other wedge ... ...other clubs!! I don't have a problem with the sun glinting off the surface, I guess I just don't notice!! I can honestly say I will never get rid of my Vokey.....the game is hard enough as it is, with one of these tools in my bag, I know the game will be easier. ...

Sooooooooooooo long! 983E & 983K Drivers
Advantages: Very long hitting club.Powerful penetrating ball flight.983E Disadvantages: 983E not as forgiving as 983K
...than my previous driver a Titleist 975J. Perhaps by an average of 15 yards.
The ball flight is a low rainbow shape. The club sets up to the ball very easily but does require a high tee peg. I find that setting the ball up further forward i.e almost off your toe increases length and promotes accuracy.
I was sceptical of the Graffalloy shaft as I am not a fan of light shafts. This doubt was eventually proven correct, (I gave it 7 months). I like ... ...16st) and I found that any attempt to really "nail" the ball hard was penalised with a fair drop in accuracy. Eventually cured this by fitting an EI70 shaft,no loss of length due to heavier shaft possibly a bit longer on average due to increased accuracy. 983K
My son (Age 13 H'cap 6) was looking foer a new driver at the same time as me but went for a Taylor made 580. Eventually fell out with this as it was too inconsistentr for him. He traded this ...

975 Driver
Advantages: great to use Disadvantages: bit pricy
The 975D is the sort of driver that everyone should have as it makes the most impressive sound on impact of any driver I have ever heard. Apart from that though, how does it fair against other Drivers on the market - such as the Callaway ERCII or the Taylor Made 300 series? Actually it does remarkably well. I use the 8 degree Driver and find that the ball flight is very good and am now hitting the ball straighter than I ever had. The distance off ... ...shape shots is good as it can sometimes be hard to do this with a driver but easy with this club. I work in a pro shop so know a lot about this sort of thing - take my word for it this is a great club (bit pricy though!) ...
