My partner & me were some of the first members to join the newly opened health club & after 2 years have decided to move on.
Greens is part of the De-vere group of hotels, they now have several health clubs throughout the UK and are expanding everyday.
This club has everything you could possibly want in a health club.
Fully equipped CV room complete with treadmills, bikes, steppers & cross trainers, all liked to six wide (and I mean wide) screen TV's showing all the regular channels plus there is a selection of the popular radio channels, all accessed via a small control panel on the equipment into which you plug you're earphones.
There is a fully equipped gym, with resistance equipment & free weights.
There is also a mini gym which contains a little of everything for the more shy among us.
Tucked away in the corner of the gym (only downside) is the spinning class, this is a group motivated cycling class done to loud music & varies from beginner through to advance so there is a something for everyone, by far and away the best class I've ever taken, improves your stamina, strength, posture & is great fun.
The aerobics studio has fitness classes from circuit to boxercise, mind & body classes from pilates to yoga & dance classes, so there is always plenty to choose from as the classes run all day.
All Ares are equipped with music, water foundations & paper towels for you're comfort.
There is always a friendly member of staff on hand if you need guidance or a little bit of a routine working out, depending on what you want to achieve.
After a long work out you can relax in one of the three spa pools, either hot, warm or cold, there is also a dry sauna, steam room & plunge pool for the brave, all these areas are beside the 75m pool which is separated into lanes & a general area.
After you're swim you can relax in the bar/restaurant which serves a good selection of healthy meals along with a full selection of drinks, the bar is equipped with two TV's, plenty of seating & daily newspapers are provided.
The changing rooms are really spacious with Plenty of showers & generous lockers all controlled via your own personal magnetic wrist band, which you also use to swipe in & out of the building.
Costs.
The joining fee when we joined was £300 for both of us.
Monthly membership is £52 each.
I'm pretty sure that the joining fee varies depending on what offers are on the table, so you need to contact you're local greens.
I know you're thinking £52 is expensive, but we go 4 times per week, most gym's will charge £2-£3 per session, this will soon eat into the £52 per month & don't forget you can go as often as you like.
There are other membership options available, students & off peak, these are basically cheaper but with restrictions on the time of day you can go.
So, to sum up, if you want to get fit, make friends & relax then greens is for you, you will soon forget about the £52 per month when you feel & look better.
