Advantages: Breathable, comfortable, waterproof and hardwearing. Disadvantages: absolutely none
...I just can't praise Rambo rugs highly enough. Two of my horses have Rambo Turnouts on all through the winter. They both live out with access to a dry shelter and the rugs only come off when I ride them, about twice a week in winter. These rugs are warm and comfortable, they never slip and are completely waterproof. On the coldest night of the year you can slip your hand under these rugs and your horse will be as warm and dry as toast. It doesn't matter if it gets soaked as it will just dry with the heat of the horse and its completely breathable. Then we get to toughness. One of my horses is a complete rug thug and every rug he's had before has ended up in a muddy torn heap in the middle of the field, but not the Rambo. I think it has more to do with the comfortable fit and he isn't restricted in any way when wearing it, but whatever...

Advantages: Light, warm, dont slip, never rub, horses seem to like them and dont try to get them off. Excellent value for money. Disadvantages: Expensive to buy, although I believe they are extremely cost effective.
...Two of my horses have to be clipped each winter to be ridden, and both horses have had a brand new rug in peices within half an hour of wearing. They hate wearing rugs, and have cost me a fortune over the past 10 years!
Someone suggested I buy a Rambo rug, and I laughed when they told me the cost. I was convinced I would be flushing 145 pounds down the drain. This person was so convinced that I wouldnt, that she leant me one of hers to try and was happy to accept the consequences!
My first thought on the Rambo rug was that it was too light, and would slip, or not be warm enough. I also thought that beacuse it was lightweight that it would be easier for my horse to tear and rip...I was wrong. He loved it, it kept him really cosy, it never slipped despite my horse cavorting around and showing off to his mates. When I took...

Advantages: snug horse, less worry, more time - hurrah! Disadvantages: None

the time!
For all you non-horsy types a rug is a coat that covers the horse's body
from his shoulder to his tail, fastening under his belly and round his
chest. Some horses particularly the finer types racehorses for example have
been bred over the years to have finer coats that no longer give them
enough protection against the British weather. So both in the stable and
out in the field they need to wear rugs to protect them.
Sadly I am not fortunate enough to be able to check on my horse throughout
the day so when thinking about getting him a new cosy winter rug I needed
to be sure that it would be safe for him to wear all...

I picked up my Saitek Cyborg Evo Joystick for 50p down at the local car boot sale. Good condition, all the buttons, clean, good as new, literally. At first, I thought "this isn't going to work, 50p? This costs around £49 brand new!" but how wrong I... more
