Advantages: Cheap, relativly light Disadvantages: Leash comes off
...Hi,
Having doing hillwalking and low grade rock climbing for a number of years i though i would take the plunge into winter walking. Last year i bought myself a pair of Grivel G10 crampons and the above axe.

The shaft of the axe sounds hollow giving it it's light weight. This does not mean that it is weak, as I used it once as as a hanhold, jaming the axe horizontal across the top of two boulders and hauling myself up on it, the shaft did not bend and their is no sign of cracking.

The head of the axe, is quit tough, and has not been disfigured...

The steerer tube is quite hefty and thick and is 1 1/8inch which is pretty average really... Both leg's have positive air pressure and coil spring with the air preload being the only thing adjustable here, with no added air inside the fork at first was very stiff and standing on the bike pushing down hard i can barely hit 50% of the 100mm travel (i'm 11 stone) i'm sure with a softer spring you could get a softer ride but after wearing the fork in which took about 20...
