Advantages: size and in town centre
Disadvantages: expensive, some incompetent staff

Large gym with up to date machines. Have enjoyed going although there is alot of waiting around at peak times. Also, I have never ever been able to book a place on a class at peak times which is very very frustrating. Only really good thing is the 25m pool that is UV filtered. There are nicer gyms in Edinburgh for the same money. My main complaint is with the incompetency of the admin staff. I cancelled my membership by filling in the required form ...

Get fit!!

Advantages: activities, cleanliness, very large, great customer service
Disadvantages: price slightly high

i attended virgin active a few months back now and after being shown around i become a member. The facilities available in the gym are absolutely fantastic, these include swimming pool, weights, CV equipment, Yoga equipment, Sauna, Steam room, Tanning beds, and a variet of classes such as boxing, cycling, circuits and light weights yoga, so everything for everyone really!! Pricey and not worth it

Advantages: Latest equipment, long opening hours, when quiet easy to get on everything
Disadvantages: Too hot, too many kids, not really a proper gym, changing rooms not overally clean

It was new and included treadclimbers which I was a regular user of when they were not 'awaiting repair' as they often were.
