Holmes Place Printworks Manchester
Review of Holmes Place, Manchester by
kev_the_rev
Advantages: Large gym, lots of good classes -RPM,BODYPUMP, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Takeover by Virgin, cutbacks have started e.g. towels, sweat-towels, classes
This was the best gym in Manchester and has great facilities and a good-sized pool. However, the takeover by Virgin Active looks set to take it downmarket. Stingy cutbacks such as removing sweat towels and only handing one bath-towel out are the start. There are fears that the Womens' Gym area is to go and that the classes will be reduced and use in-house formats instead of the excellent BodySystems training. Its a shame as there is now a major gap ...

Pleasant fitness club in manchester
Review of Esporta Club, Manchester by
phalangid
Advantages: Plenty of equipment, classes, and a great view
Disadvantages: Cost, location depending on where you are
The Esporta at Salford Quays is probably one of the best in the Manchester area in terms of cleanliness, service, appearance, and equipment. It is lacking mainly in size of the pool, and perhaps location, but the location depends on where you live, so it may be very convenient!
The fitness area includes two levels of machines for Cardio: stationary cycles, sitting cycles, rowing machines, treadmills, step machines, and a variety of other equipment ... ...machines, arm machines, and a variety of specialized equipment for hamstrings and tummy exercises.
Free weights: all the necessary weights and bars you could need.
Stretching/fitness ball area: a floorspace with area for stretching, using small freeweights, or fitness balls.
Spin room: enough room for maybe 30 people (i.e. stationary spin cycles).
Fitness hall: a large area for other aerobics classes.
There is also a pool, separate changing ...

Moston Fitness First
Review of Fitness First, Moston, Manchester by
balders1305
Advantages: Friendly staff, impressive gym.
Disadvantages: None
Ive been to all the Fitness Firsts in Manchester but when I entered Moston my first impression was that I really liked the layout of this gym. The staff are friendly and very approachable and theres always somebody on hand to help.
The classes are also very good, I particular enjoy the spinning class.
It is also quite a big gym so even at busy times there is always a machine to use.
There is a big free weights area which as usual is full of men ...

Curves in Redhill
Review of curves international, womens sport centre by
sonjaangel
Advantages: very friendly and ethusiastic staff, fun, cheap
Disadvantages: parking, opening hours
...One day I came across Curves website when searching on Google. Their venue is based in heart of Shopping mole in Redhill.
I decided to phone them and find out some information about their concept and price... They were very helpful and well trained to tell you everything you need to know about Curves. I still couldnt believe that 30mins workout 3x weekly could make you tone up and lose weight in combination with healthy lifestyle and right food ... ...by parking in front of Curves by realising that every time I visit I will be charged because I parked at the shopping centre car park but there isnt any other parking avaliable in Redhill centre. It maybe doesnt sound like much £0.60/h but every time you want to pay for parking you have to go inside the shopping centre which is so tempting when you see all those shops and the mashine for paying could really be located nearer too.
I got to the gym ...
